My husband and I stayed overnight here with our two children (7&3) on our way to Strasbourg. I found the reception staff very helpful (via email) from the moment I booked. We were late arriving in Mons, so had to use the out of hours access. I emailed the hostel whilst we were stuck in traffic on the m25, and...

As a hostel it's fine. Clean, decent showers etc. However this place really needs to stop advertising its "free wifi" or change internet provider. The connection drops every two or three minutes and requires re-authentication. The signal strength is pathetically low, even in the reception area, I cannot imagine where the router is located. this makes it INCREDIBLY difficult to...

Excellent accommodation for a family (children 10 and 12). The price was great (58 euro) and the room very clean. We all enjoyed the breakfast on offer and the staff were friendly and helpful. The location was perfect and we were able to walk to the main square where there were lots of restaurants. No wifi in the rooms.

If you want simplicity, basics, no frills, then this is the perfect place. We were made most welcomed, given our bed linen, towels & key to the room,. We made our beds (bunk beds). Good continental breakfast on the ground floor, where there is also a large common room, with pool table, table tennis & other games, books, computers etc....

Parking great. Location great _ if your sat nav works. Room great _ if you can manage three flights of stairs. Breakfast lovely with lots of choice. Had a room to ourselves with all facilities. Don't be afraid!

This hostel is in an excellent location. We paid a bit more and had a room to ourselves. The window in the room didn't open much so we found the room stuffy but apart from that the facilities were very good. Better than some hotels we have stayed in. The breakfast was extremely good but the self catering facilities were...

Bear in mind this place is a hostel, so you make your own bed, share dorms and there's lots of people around. I've stayed in hostels all over Europe and this was probably one of the best. Excellent location, nice new rooms and great facilities. Quite frankly, if you ever stay in Mons, stay here. You'd be stupid not to.

Stayed here as part of a larger group for a charity bike ride through Belgium. I was a little surprised to have to make my own bed but it was a good night sleep and was what was needed. It's that kind of place. The thing that let it down the most though was the surly attitude of the guy...

There's something magical about this place. I know this might sound a bit tacky but it's true. This is my first time staying at an auberge anywhere in the world. I have tried resorts, hotels, houses and ranches. The thing about this place is, if you're gonna be negative, you're gonna hate it. First of all, this is not a...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Above all else, on arrival in the town centre you will see a building on top of which is a UNESCO heritage Belfry; a major tourist attraction in Mons. Ok, so that's all rather lovely, but where is the Youth Hostel? Ah well, you're there...Not bad, huh?At 100 m from the Grand Place and the main shopping streets, the hostel is a new building, with all modern facilities. It is also right in the middle of all major events in the city. ... more   less
