Unique place, part of brewery turned into hotel rooms but like motel and the rooms had own outside door on to cobbled yard. Rooms, beds clean and very spacious with en suite shower room. Breakfast was very good and included grilled bacon and scrambled eggs as well as the usual continental breakfast items. Breakfast was in the main restaurant area.... More

The room had very little natural light available so was a bit dull but it was big and the beds were comfortable. The bar and restaurant was full of locals both at lunchtime and evening which I always think is a very good sign.We booked for an evening meal and we both thought that the mixed starter plate was one of... Arriving at the hotel you have to take in the brewery, which is an impressive building. Unfortunately the hotel is an outhouse build onto the structure so it doesn't have the same charm. The location is super as you can park the car at the hotel, and then walk to the center of town in 5 minutes. The hotel is... More

Spent a long weekend at this hotel. Not the most central but easy access of ring road and only 5 minutes walk from central square. Basic but clean accommodation within a working brewery. Reception staff really friendly and breakfast has all usual cereal, cold cuts, fruit, bread, pastries etc. with the added bonus of bacon and scrambled eggs. Hot and... More

The location of the hotel is good, off the main road but close enough for easy access. Some great beers on offer, I would recommend the Golden Carolus Triple a lovely drink and brewed onsite. Breakfast was ok, not much left when we got there but the staff were happy to make more for us, a very pleasant stay.

This was at least the third time I have stayed here with friends. In fact we have lost count exactly how many times we have stayed (probably the strong Belgian beer!). A small hotel with clean functional rooms, each with tea/coffee making facilities and shower. The rooms in the courtyard are quieter than at the front of the hotel which... More

We discovered the hard way that there are two hotels with the same ending name in Mechelen, we wanted to stay in the one closer to the centre, this one is not. The hotel reception staff are very helpful and attentive, however, the rooms are a complete letdown and not throughly clean. Breakfasts is ok, but beware, on Sunday when... More

But convenient. Expect a motel style, clean room with outdated bathroom. Spartan, carpet on floor but clean and conveniently located on the ring road within walking distance of city center. I slept in similar rooms in east block during communism. For a brewery going the extra miles to produce excellent beer, a bit more attention to detail and to their... More

For me a visit here was always going to be the Holy Grail as its my favourite beer in the World. It did not disappoint. Excellent tours of the working brewery which would be closed if in UK due to Health & Safety. Trip hazards, holes in the floor, doors that opened onto sheer drops. Billiant, brilliant brilliant. Part museum,... More
