Stayed in the top floor suite for two nights. I was on business and the hotel is better suited for leisure. The room was very nice. Spacious, with high, vaulted, ceilings. Quiet. Very nice bathroom. Smelled a little stale but I got used to it. Steep spiral staircase was challenging with my luggage and there is not a bellman (although...

Room 6 this time. Probably my favourite so far though I failed to notice the thermostat so had an uncomfortably hot night. Entirely my fault. I'd like better pillows but other than that this is a gem, smack in the heart of the old city. I intend to keep returning.

I booked a room for one night and was very pleased with the welcoming staff. The room was pleasant and well decorated (nice interior, comfy bed, coffee/tea & water, clean bathroom). The location is a big plus: in a quite street right in the heart of the city. I will book this room again.

Enjoyed our stay as the rooms were fine though as others have said, tricky stairs. The receptionist was very helpful too. The water in the fridge was free but oddly never got replaced in 4 nights and nor did any of the shower/shampoo gels and the coffee cups on two days did not get changed. There was a party of...

I tend to go to Antwerp once or twice a year. I alternate between Hotel Matelote and The Hilton Antwerp (around the corner). This past month, I stayed at HM for five nights and enjoyed every moment. I slept in the loft upstairs which was roomy and very comfortable for one and would certainly be great for two. It was...

Very good stay. Big room and nice view. The stairs are a little bit tricky. No elevator. You have to reserve your breakfast the day before. The room and the bathroom were very clean. I enjoied the big bath tube.

We found this hotel to be extremely nice with helpful staff. It was right in the middle of the historical centre of Antwerp and hence easy for sights and transport. One plus was that the hotel did what it set out to do very well but did not try to do other services which it was not big enough to...

Hotel Matelote is a wonderful small hotel and does well to look after it's guests. There are only a limited number of rooms and this makes it a bit more intimate than the usual larger hotel chains. The building itself is worth a look as it dates back to the 16th century and has been well renovated. The staff are...

Our rooms were stylish, with minimalist décor yet very comfortable. You step out of the hotel into the heart of the historic city centre, two minutes to the main squares, surrounded by charming streets full of funky shops and cosy bars. This is a great location to enjoy the delights of trendy Antwerp.

Stayed here only one night but it was very nice. We had the top floor and a bathroom to die for. Staff was helpful in making dinner reservations where the locals eat in the trendy south Antwerp. I'd go back in a heart beat! We were right in the heart of the historic city center and just north of their...
