This was our second stay at De Zonnehoed and we love it! Martien is such a warm and welcoming character and very entertaining. Our room was lovely, and well equipped, overlooking the garden with an ensuite too. We had our car and bikes with us too which was no problem, and ideal as the house is right on the crossroads...

Your lovely home away from home for a few days out of the city (like visiting your uncle's country house). Quiet, rural yet with everything you need. Also immaculately clean, with wonderful beds, linen and even bathrobes. Owners are welcoming and nice people, happy to help with almost everything: we used kitchen to prepare our salads for dinner, and Martin...

We choose this place for the convenient closeness to Keukenhof and the seaside (+-8 km). It is situated out of the town in a rural environment scenic with a nearby windmill, open fields and canals around. It is very quit, just a few cars per day and some more bicycles. The owner is very friendly and brought us the breakfast...

De Zonnehoed offers an apartment and two rooms in a pastoral setting technically in Lisse, but closer to Sussenheim. Access is by a one lane levee road that carries more cyclists and walkers than motorists. The apartment is very comfortable and roomy and the host serves breakfast in the apartment, a breakfast that included eggs from the host's chickens. All...

We had a very lovely 2 night stay at De Zonnehoed while in the area to visit the Keukenhof Gardens. The bed was super comfortable, the room and bathroom super clean, breakfast was plentiful and delicious. A scenic location, a nearby windmill, open fields and canals around, and 2 sheep on the property make it all pretty picture perfect. The...

The B and B was fabulous. Martin and his wife were so helpful. My family of 4 plus 2 mom and dad had agreat rooms. The kids stayed in the upstairs loft and loved it. The location was amazing. Two sheep lots of giant bunnies running around. Breakfast was fresh and wonderful. Easy travel to gardens, coast and Amsterdam. Will...

We stayed here for 2 nights in and chose it for its proximity to the Keukenhof Gardens not realising they were closed :-( However location was great, the hosts were charming and attentive and most helpful with local information, eating places and so on. Room comfortable and quiet . The breakfast was excellent, served at a table in our room...

This is an excellent country setting for the runner or walker. Convenient to Keukenhof Gardens and the small town of Lisse. The rooms are clean, very comfortable and have wonderful views of the countryside. Interesting and enjoyable host. The stairs are steep, but quite manageable...the host will help you with your luggage. I use a cane and had no problem....

We stayed here for three nights and I had read all the reviews and we were not disappointed. What a fantastic welcome. The breakfast was excellent and the location is lovely. We were able to hire bikes for the day on order to cycle around the area and visit the Keukenhof. We hope to return !

I have always wanted to stay in De Zonnehoed ever since I chanced upon it in Tripadvisor a year ago, after I returned from my first visit to Keukenhof Gardens in April 2012. I last stayed in a hostel in Amsterdam and decided that should I return, I want to stay in the countryside instead, where I can see the...
