Stayed here last night. 2 min walk from train station, ideal! Yes steep stairs.. but this is Amsterdam people! We paid 35 euro's plus 5% city tax for en suite double, bargain. Also paid 20 euro deposit for key. This was returned at 7am when we checked out. The room was spacious, radiator on full. Clean tidy a little tatty but...

Two of us booked in for one night, pictures totally misleading on the net, would query if it is a registered place as there is no name over the door. We asked locals for directions never heard of it. Spent ages looking for it, then had to wait 20mins for her to open the door, The way the lady opens...

My partner and I had booked this place for one night as we couldn't get into the garden apartment we had reserved until the next night. We found the address which was about a half block from the Central Station. We rang the bell for a while but no answer. Finally after about 10-15minutes a lady comes up to the...

4 of us arrived to the building which had no sign or indication it was a B&B (note: breakfast is not provided or in fact available). We phoned up for her to come and answer the door and all we heard was rattling....turns out there is a rope leading up the stairs attached to the door lock and she was...

Location is good, but I would have rather stayed outside the city centre than stay at this place. It smells and it is dirty, the towels were so awful, I didnt even want to put my feet on them so I went and bought new ones. We didnt even have proper beds, they were matresses on the floor! I didnt...

I booked the "Bed and Breakfast" convinced that the place was an actual bed and breakfast. But there was no Breakfest, though i first was told that when i arrived. My friend and I had booked a room with two bedrooms but because our receive didn't say that we had to live in a single room, with 2 beds. The...

Maggy's is very convenient for exploring central Amsterdam, and great if arriving into the city from the train station. We did find it a little hard to find though as its just a door with no signs to say it's even a hostel. We had a large room on the top floor (beware: lots of very steep stairs) and despite...

If you are planning to visit Ams just cople of days, Maggy's might be suitable for you. Romms are extremely small, there is a LCD TV, coffe machine and etc, but not a place to store your luggage, in addition the rooms are not very clean. There is always a weed smell in the hostel and rooms, and the walls...

Staying in Centrum

Neighbourhood Profile
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
