The hotel is in the museum district of Amsterdam and is therefore a great staritng off point to visit the museums. It is also very close to boat tour staring points and close to many restaurants and drinking venues.

The location of the hotel is very good and the rooms are OK yet I would not choose this hotel again because it was expensive but the staff was not very attentive to my needs. The sleep quality was poor.

Clean and spacious room (top floor) Lovely spacious and clean bathroom. Great service at reception. Choose to breakfast out every morning so did not try the hotel food. Our flight was late in the afternoon, so managed to store our luggage at the hotel without any issues.

good service, the room was really to small and the cleaning was average. However the location of the hotel is just perfect. We had a pleasant stay in amsterdam but we stayed at the hotel only for a few hours sleeping. the bed and the pillow were not confortable.

This hotel is ideally located near the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh museum...that's the plus side. However, as a solo traveller I was allocated a tiny room. Ok, big city, small rooms, but this was depressing. The decor was so dull and outdated, curtains and carpets badly in need of replacement. Not a pleasant room to sit in at the...

I booked this hotel for its proximity to the Rijksmuseum and the nearby Van Gogh museum. No doubt the location was perfect for my purposes, a stone's throw from both places. However, my single room was tiny with very dated decor. I must admit it was clean, but sitting in there to write or read in the evening would be...

Overall very enjoyable stay, will be returning. Room was clean and big enough for the two of us with sufficient facilities. Shower was great. Very central to museums, galleries, shops & restaurants. Staff very helpful.

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
