I had a single room which was tiny...not much bigger than a cupboard which was quite unbelievable given how much it cost. (And it did not even include breakfast). Generally the staff were polite and helpful, with the exception of one guy at reception who was rude.

Location perfect but so understaffed that checking in or getting bar service took up to 30 mins. What staff there were were helpful and charming. Had accessible room in basement which meant that we had to ask staff to help us use goods lift in order to get in and out of hotel. Rooms well equipped but hot noisy and...

Loved our stay at this hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Had a problem with our key cards not working and staff was always willing to come open the room and request for it to be fixed. The rooms were great. Bathroom upon first glance was kind of small but worked out fine. The location is great. Right next...

Went to Amsterdam, found this when we got there, room availability was good, price was alright, beds are not comfy at all! Bathroom was tight and the rooms were only half heartedly cleaned! The hotel is positioned well, very easy to remember where you are once you first find it in a city were every next street looks like the...

Very good location. Right by the main museums and short tram ride to the city centre and Central station. The hotel was nice, friendly staff. Room had adequate space but the bathroom was fairly cramped but it was clean. Our room was at the front of the hotel overlooking the canal but we didn't get any disturbance at night. The...

Before I get to the hotel, let me start off with that the hotel is in a great location! It is just a few blocks down from the Rijksmuseum-which has the 'I amsterdam' sign, Van Gogh museum, Vondelpark, Hard Rock Cafe, Heineken Experience, and the Leidseplein area. There is a tram stop next to the Rijksmuseum that will take you...

While at this hotel I left a sum of money in the roomsafe and locked it. I forgot about it and returned to collect it 2 days after I checked out. It's an electronic safe so only me or the duty manager should have been able to open it. After being passed around from person to person a day later...

Please make sure you won't get those rooms facing the main street, especially those on the lower floor. Very unfriendly staff in the reception , rude and ask you to wear a ear plug to encounter the noise to sleep. Rooms are small, redicoulus layout - you can't open the bathroom door without moving the bed and you can't bring...

We walked in from the street and got room for 1 night. The staff were helpful and spoke excellent English. The room was small with a shower only bathroom. Free wifi which worked well in the room. Lots of sights and restaurants close by. We parked on the street close by at 4 euro per hour. Amsterdam is not a...

Best hotel to visit the city of Amsterdam in a few days. It is located in the very center of the beautiful Amsterdam. One can easily go by foot to loads of museums and parks in a short period of time. I stayed in this hotel in July and an umbrella is a must. The hotel is very well kept,...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
