We booked a "superior" room and trust me, there was absolutely nothing superior about it. The room was tiny, the shower was disgusting, no door, broken wall tiles, really grubby and run down looking. I wouldn't book this again.

Hotel covered in tarpaulins and scaffolding no mention of ongoing work when booking.Room was very compact dark not much space and electric sockets not working only one which was for the kettle. The area is ideal for visiting the museums and Vondel Park. Lots of eating places nearby.Coffee in reception is awful avoid.

This hotel is warm and very useful if you want to see the Van Gogh and or all the art museums and galleries that location wise is only 7mins away and based next to a very lovely park. It was very central for us to get around all the important museum and art galleries with time...very useful location and next...

We stayed here during the Xmas markets, I personally couldn't fault the staff or the hotel. Very clean hotel, very friendly staff. Hot showers, plenty of choice at breakfast, this is a typical Continental breakfast that is offered but there is plenty of choice. It's is a fair walk into the town centre, if enjoy walking like us this is...

Nice little hotel - we stayed for a 3 night weekend trip. Room was pretty small, but, very clean and as we only slept in the room its size wasn't a problem. It was very hot though and even turning down the radiator didn't cool it down. That's only a very minor grumble though. You'll be near Vondelpark which is...

I absolutely loved the area this hotel is located. it's right in a beautiful shopping street. you will find most brands there and couple of cafes to chill out outdoor. perfect morning walks, very close to a famous museum. The hotel was clean, I would stay there again for sure if I have to choose a place with a reasonable...

Stayed here for the weekend, arrived in the morning and reception took our cases to look after until check in anytime after 14:00. First man on reception not overly friendly, but other staff we met later on were lovely and helpful. Rooms were standard but nice and clean. Clean towels and bedding. Big windows with nice views onto the street,...

Before arrival, I requested an early booking as we landed in Amsterdam at 9am & didn't want to be walking around with cases all day. Arrived at 12pm, room wasn't ready. Came back at 3ish & we were upgraded to a large double room instead of a small double room. We stayed in room 257, was cosy, looked onto the...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
