We stayed in a hotel part because we prefer to have privacy and also our own bathroom. Rooms are rather small but for short stay comfortable. I have some little complains about cleaning, we found some nuts under the bed and also little bit of dust in a bathroom. The biggest issue was the heating in the room, we had...

My girlfriend and myself left today there is nothing wrong with this hotel, our first holiday abroad a bit weary after reading tripadvisor before arriving but all these low reviews are unfair and wrong, located 10 minutes on a tram to central station, all the main areas, the staff were all really friendly ans helpful with any questions and requests...

It wasn't too bad of a stay, granted, what more could you expect from a hostel? I stayed there in September 2011 and I was a little bit leary at first because it was my first time in a hostel. but I actually felt safe. My roommates were very trustworthy, ended up being really cool! It was around the museum...

The only good thing i saw there was a microwave, plates and cutlery so you can buy and prepare something to eat if you arrive late (my case). The location is ok. It's not a scary neighborhood but it's not central. You definitely won't go from Centraal Station to there walking if you have luggage. I was there one night...

I wasn't expecting a lot from this place as I knew it was primarily a hostel and I'd booked a twin room with private bathroom as Amsterdam accommodation was pricey. For 2 adults, staying 2 nights - the £150 rate turned out to be pretty extortionate for what we got. The room was pokey, stank of weed, the walls were...

This hostel is easily accessible by tramway from the central station. That was clean and quiet. However, the rooms are small, very little storage and there is no A/C. In conclusion, for the city of Amsterdam, this is a very good place to sleep and I recommend it.

We booked this hotel in a rush...and didn't check trip advisor beforehand. It wasn't what we expected for a family of four. On arrival - we discovered it was a hostel- and our room had 3 bunk beds. This thrilled my 8 year old- but not the rest of us. We decided not to stay and found more suitable accommodation...

The hotel didn't seem too bad at first, just your basic hostel. But when we entered the room, not only was there no room to move at all, but the bathroom stunk, we were unable to open and close our window freely and there was no ventilation in the room. After the first night we noticed bites on ourselves, turns...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
