We stayed about 5 minutes walk from the antique shop in a lovely little one bedroom apartment. It was furnished with antiques and very charming. The bed was amazingly comfortable and I loved the feather and down pillows and quilt. The wi fi worked very...More
I stayed at the Herengracht room for one night on a recent business trip to Amsterdam. I arrived at the antique shop and was given the key and directions to the room (and an offer to take me there), and paid in cash as requested....More
Stayed here at the end of January on a short three night trip. Since the guesthouse rooms are based all over the neighbourhood there is no guarantee over which room you will get but we got one that was on the top floor and very...More

This UNESCO World Heritage Site is as historically significant as it is perennially popular. Whether you’re a history buff, architecture enthusiast, shutterbug, or fashionista, odds are you’ll find the Amsterdam you're looking for while roaming around the Grachtengordel (Canal Ring). A brilliant place to get lost in a moody meander and a key component to any sightseeing trip to Amsterdam, this area's major draws
include the Anne Frank House, the Bloemenmarkt floating flower market, an enviable assortment of independent boutiques along De Negen Straatjes, and of course all of Grachtengordel’s lovely canals and bridges.

I emailed the guest house after booking to ask what room I was allocated, then I searched for that address on Google Maps. We went in September 2014 and we were booked in "Herengracht 57" which had a great central location, just a 2 minute walk from Dam Square. The room itself was brilliant for myself and partner (both 27), it wasn't huge but accommodated our needs perfectly (room included nice double bed, tv, fridge, small dining table/chairs, free wifi, space to keep your belongings... and also had private bathroom). We were basically staying in our own little apartment and felt like locals! There wasn't a reception desk with room service but we didn't need any of that (the guest house owners are just a phone call away but we had no need to ring them). Next time we go we'll be asking to stay in Herengracht 57 again! Enjoy your holiday :-)
