We (my best friend and I) stayed here from Jul 12-15 to kick off our 2 1/2 month Euro trip and though the location was good and the bunk comfortable, everything else about this place was absolutely feral. Check-in was fast easy. We were given our room key and made our way up then three very narrow, harrowing flights of...

I stayed for three nights in August 2015. One night I came back quite late to find that the managers had double booked my bed out. All they could do was put a mattress on the floor for me. The staff are all a bit moronic and seem confused all the time. The manager is very friendly at first but...

There was 10 of us staying in this hostel while we was interailing, we had a very tight squeeze in to the room but we wasn't too upset about it as it was in a good place, it is about 30/40 minutes walking from the train station but it is very easy to get a tram there. The staff were...

I chosed this place because it has reasonable price with good location, but my staying experience was terrible. First of all, I travelled as a group of 6 and we got the top floor room (4th floor). When I entered the room, I was surprised by how small the room is! Imagine once two people open the luggage, you hardly...

The only positive this hostel has is the location end of. Now let me get started, the owner is an absolute waste of space who ripped us off. Many people in the hostel also agreed that they was ripped off by the vile sweaty man. Don't go here!VILE!

I had booked with this hostel to be close to my friends but it looked much worse than any hostel I've stayed in. I wanted to stay three nights but cancel the rest of the week I booked and they refused. the manager lied and said they had no WiFi in the lobby for me to show him their own...

First of all it was much cheaper than anything at the time in Amsterdam, so that was nice! The facilities were OK and rather clean, Wi-Fi was good, a small breakfast and a clean shower was also available. Expect cats. The staff was not always very nice, it really depends on who you get behind the counter.

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
