If you are looking to experience Amsterdam, this location is great. The staff is very helpful in terms of finding public transportation for you but you probably will not need it. Most museums are just in the backyard and you can walk to the Red Light District very easily. There are coffee shops also close by and the staff is...

Completely poor customer service from one man here that has led to this review. I've been to Amsterdam a few times and know what to expect with hostels. Had there not been a used pair of pants in our shower id have said the room was fine for what we paid. But the thing that really got me here was...

The best is the location. This hostel doesn't have elevators (there are steep stairs). The common area and the breakfast area are so small, people sometimes have to wait for someone finish eating to sit. There's no lockers in the rooms (you will not have a place to put valuable items). There's a small bathroom for each room, and others...

I don't recommend this hostel to anyone !! I could not sleep the whole night because of spiders everywhere on the bed, the room smelled so bad - humidity, no aeration - It was a very dirty place. You really get disappointed.

The user’s photos of this hostel here on Trip Advisor are not helping! The hostel is better than that. It's simple, but I liked it! It's a fair price, especially considering that Amsterdam has expensive accommodations. Breakfast included, but I didn't have time to try it. Free wifi. Nice team, very friendly attendants. Perfect location: few minutes walking to Van...

I do not recommend this hostel to anyone. In theory, this hostel filled it function: me and my group could sleep there and nobody stole our stuff while we were checking out Amsterdam. The thing is that Annemarie did this all with astounding joylessness. The long curly haired guy behind the desk was more flegmatic than the city's stoner tourists...

I stay one night , the location is good but it is very dirty . Terrible place. You can rent a cycle but if you don t came back you must to pay 20 € more for one day. The bed is terrible and I don't like the staff. For breakfast you can eat only bread and marmalade . No...

Don't get fooled by pics. This is one of the worst place to stay. The bathroom's taps weren't working. Forget the taps, the bathroom is as tiny as it gets. Stinked too. The breakfast was terrible. Not going back to this place ever.

At the Annemarie I stayed in an eight person dorm room with only 3 outlets. The showers were warm but disgustingly dirty, moldy, and always smelled. None of the garbage cans had bags in them so "liquids" just stayed in the bin and putrefied even after the cleaners came. Breakfast is included in the price but consists of untoasted bread...

Really good location but had a weird experience with one of the staff who came into the room without knocking in the morning and my friend was getting changed. Free breakfast is literally bread and coffe. Bathroom was a little dirty but the beds were reasonably comfortable. However it is quite cheap and close to public transport and right next...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
