We stayed for 2 nights. It's located in a nice neighbourhood close to tram and bus stops. Not very close to the centre but yet convenient. It's a small hotel, clean and relatively cozy. However don't expect much. There is no elevator and if you have large bags it will be difficult to get them upstairs through these narrow stairs....

Stayed there for 3 nights. Rooms are small but clean. Staff are very friendly and break fast was good. But no elevator and steep foot steps. Sure aged and those who have pain legs cant claim. In some of the rooms (May be 3 or 4 rooms) no attached bath rooms. If you are booking through some site, please check...

Very kind staff, family hotel, good location near the museums. Very steep stairs and for European prices expensive, although Amsterdam is like this. Bikes rental possible at the hotel. Easy connection to the airport.

It is a simple, familiar and clean hotel. Location is a must - a quiet residential street just a few meters from the Museumplein, Van Gogh Museum, Rjiksmuseum, Concert Hall, bars, restaurants and supermarket. Rooms are tiny and beds are comfortable. The toilets and showers, despite shared among the guests, are clean. Free wi-fi works well. The stairs may be...

Close to museums and not far from central city. A short walk from the 197 bus to the airport ($5). Bike rental available at a good price. Possibly the steepest stairs I've ever seen, which I thought was cool--just take them slowly and hold the railing! I recommend a room with a shared bathroom for the best deal. The shower...

Booked a triple room for a short family hotel. This is an old house converted to a hotel more than 30 years ago. So expect traditional dutch steep stairs, which are designed to boost your cycling legs. The triple rooms are reasonably large and have private shower and bathroom. Facility are basic with a fridge, a kettle and a crt...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
