Recently went with 4 mates and the hotel lived up to expectations. The hotel was in a brilliant location, rooms were comfy even with 5 lads in there. Only problem is the stairs, luckily we're quite active and fit, but would not recommend to older or unfit people, especially if you're on 4th/5th floor like us.

Booked a room for 6 people during the middle of December as it was a birthday weekend. Small but comfortable room with 4 bunk beds, shared WC with power shower and storage lockers, perfect for a quick stop or a birthday weekend with friends. Beds and sheets were clean. Room was hot but bearable, probably because we were on 4th...

We only stayed here one night as we had done the mini cruise with our children. The hotel is in a fantastic location and they were kind enough to let us store our bagagge there before check in. The room was located on the second floor we were fine with the stairs but I could see that they could affect...

Brilliant location, just a couple of minutes from the central station, and a short walk to the sights. We were a group of middle aged women out for a fun few days without husbands and kids. We had a room for four with en suite bathroom. The bunk beds were a challenge, but none of us broke a hip. Lovely...

Pretty neat for a hostel I must say. We were 2 couples so took a quad room with insuite washroom. Room was quite clean as well as the washroom. As I had read in other reviews, no toilet papers were provided so we got it from front desk. Overall for the price it exceeded the quality it was provided. Staff...

If you are going in for a quick visit to Amsterdam and finding a place to stay near centraal probably this place will make a cut in 19 out of 20 times . The rooms are good and clean however you might not want to take a huge bag as the staircases are pretty narrow . Overall a nice experience...

We rented the double room with a private bath for one night and it was an okay place to crash. The bed was comfortable and the hostel was close to everything. The shower flooded the bathroom floor to the point it was difficult to use for the rest of our stay. They offer a place to keep your luggage if...

"Travel hotel" is definitely not a hotel, it's a hostel, but it was a pretty lovely hostel. The reception staff were lovely, we were allowed to keep our bags in a room before check in time, but not after we checked out. Showers were always clean, but the bedroom floors always seemed to be wet. The room was alright, no...

This hotel is perfect if you want free herpes.I would recommend you do not use the shower, toilet or any of the bed linen unless you want some old flaky skin touching overall it's a lovely place if you are used to live on the street.. make sure you bring your ebola suit!.. or sleep in your cloths and shoes....

Just returned from 3 nights at the travel hotel, was a bit nervous going after reading the reviews on here, but was pleasantly surprised. Stayed in a double room was small, clean and basic. Wifi was working in the room and there was no bed bugs. In a perfect location close to everything food, bars, coffee shops just around the...

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
