The staff is very pleasant and accommodating. Very near Van Gogh, Rijks, Heinekin Brewery, tram stop, supermarket, Albert Cuyp market, 15-30 min walk to center of Amsterdam. Beds comfy, A/C worked great, nice size rooms, hot water in shower, ice machine down the hall and they had a room for my luggage for after I checked out of room but... More

We stayed here for 4 nights at the end of June as we visited Amsterdam for my 21st birthday. Firstly the location was ideal, from the airport we caught the 197 bus which costs 5 euro and got off at the Museumplein and made our way to the hotel. The reception staff were lovely and welcoming, providing us with a... More

The stay was pretty good. Issues were my key card stopped working 3 times in 4 days. Thankfully you need to put your key card in the elevator before it will allow you to the floor you are on. So I needed to get in line each time for a new card. There is supposed to be coffee in each... More

Dear Sally, Thank you for your kind words about our quiet hotel. I truly apologize for the bad experience you have had with the key cards and the coffee. Coffee needs to be refilled every day in your room. Despite these issues I hope you have enjoyed your stay and will next time also choose for NH Museum Quarter. Kind... More

Good hotel close to the centre. Quiet refuge from the tourist busle. Lovely staff. Didn't eat in hotel as to many resteraunts in the city but it looked ok. Liked the freedom to use the gym and health suite.

We couldn't have picked a better hotel for our city break. Ideal location for getting about and seeing the sights but also for just wandering and people watching. Situated in leidersplein, a bustling area and one which the locals recommended for drinks- wouldn't hesitate to go back. Lovely restaurants and cafes round abouts staff were very friendly and couldn't do... More

The NH Amsterdam Museum Quarter hotel was very nice. The room was spacious and clean, the breakfast was plentiful, and the staff was kind and courteous. Amsterdam is a warm and welcoming city, and this hotel helped with the entire atmosphere.

This NH hotel is comfortable and either a short trolley ride or decent walk from the city center. Breakfasts are not included, but the rooms are clean and spacious. There is a lovely courtyard area and the staff is very helpful and friendly.

Though there were a few problems, the staff were helpfull in sorting them out and overall we had a very good stay. The rooms and bathroom were comfortable. Our intial check inn was very slow, however thereafter we received good assistance from the front desk.

I had booked the least expensive room a few months before arrival as I didn't see the need to pay more. When my wife and I showed up at around 9pm to check in, we asked if there was an upgrade available (for free or to pay for one.). I think we caught them at the right time, or we... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
