I chose this hotel because of location. However, as this is in winter the heating is controlled by the front desk. My room door had a big gap at the bottom so the heat was escaping and the room was cold. The breakfast cold cuts and bacon are recycled from the day before. On the last day, I enquired if...

Situated just opposite the railway station, Bellevue hotel is an excellent choice if you want to explore the city centre. Most of the attractions are in a walking distance: the Royal palace, Anne Frank's house, the canals, the Red light district. Quite comfortable rooms, small bathrooms, clean, so everything is quite good for this price. We did not have the...

I was with a group that stayed here. Everyone else had really nice rooms. They were large and had great views looking out on Central Station. My room wasn't much bigger than a closet. I could barely move in it. The window looked across a small courtyard into a hallway, so I could never open my curtain unless I wanted...

We stayed here for 2 nights last week - the hotel was in a good location opposite the central station. The receptionist that checked us in was very friendly, as were all the staff we spoke to. Room was on the ground floor, no complaints about it - double bed, wardrobe, shower, desk - what more do you need for...

I can't understand how anyone can complain that rooms are too small here. I must assume the people reviewing are comparing this to either a luxury or more American style hotel. Try staying at Hotel Nadia, those rooms are small! Anyway, this place wasn't the lest expensive hotel, but it's still relatively cheap for the size, comfort and location. Would...

We stayed three days in the hotel. Overall the hotel is located right next to the central station in an old building. Prices are ok ( book over webpage to get additional 5% off) Rooms are little bit too small and shower/bath could be renovated. Bed was okay and room was cleaned every day. The heating also did not work...

First, I'd like to say the staff is very friendly and tried to accommodate me in every way possible. I needed to work for one day during my stay and it is not possible in this very noisy, cramped hotel. I could hear everything that was going on in the hotel from my room. I have read reviews that state...

Staying in Centrum

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
