The location in the centre of the city, near Dam square, amenities like mini bar, sleepers, coffee/tea machine, boiler, towels- everything you need-, kind staff, cool modern /classic design in the room and the rest of hotel, nice restaurant called "Lobby" for lunch and dinner (breakfast, too). The best impressions!

Hotel V Nesplein is a great base for exploring Amsterdam. Hip, modern hotel inside an historic façade. Our room was large, very comfortable, well designed, scrupulously clean and well supplied. Staff was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The Lobby restaurant was inviting and comfortable. We had breakfast there each day of our stay. The food and service was very good and...

Hand down the best location for a hotel stay in Amsterdam possible. When you look on a map of Amsterdam it seems rather large and spaced out. When you get there you realize it's actually rather small and compact. Hotel V is right in the heart of it all In the perfect location. The dam square is 5 mins walking,...

Location is amazing! Don't skip breakfast at the hotel. It's great. Front desk is very helpful with tips and attractions. Superior room is great size for Amsterdam. Rooms were clean and comfy. No AC so take it into consideration if you are looking for one.

This was my second stay at the Hotel V Nesplein and it was just as great as the first time. The best thing about the hotel (among other good things) is the central location. The worst is the fact that breakfast is not included in the booking price (there are no other complaints). The hotel interior is lovely and a...

We stayed at this hotel during King's day this year. The location is great, right at city centre. There are plenty eateries and bars nearby. We took the suites and room was spacious. However the hotel staff were not very friendly/helpful.

The Hotel V Nesplein is right smack-dab in the heart of the central Dam area of Amsterdam. It's set one block back, on a quiet street. I was amazed at how quiet and peaceful it was, so close to the square. It's within walking distance of the station, or you can hop a tram. We were able to explore much...

The hotel is located at the center of town, next to Dam square,...

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
