We stayed in the loft and just love the decor and the feeling of a real Amsterdam canal house. Cynthia was a great host and chef, "breakfast was amazing" and a fountain of information which made our short stay fantastic. Thank you Cynthia. Highly recommended.

Why stay in a sterile bland corporate hotel when you can enjoy a genuine canal house experience? The Vanguard is a beautiful authentic canal house in a great location. The hostess, Cynthia, is very helpful and will make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Her breakfasts are five star all the way and will set you up nicely for a...

This is a delightful Amsterdam canal house in a great location. Steep spiral stairs lead to the loft room at the top - well worth the climb. Cynthia, the hostess, is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is wonderful. A stay here really adds to your Amsterdam experience.. Highly recommended.

Wonderful warm and helpful reception form Cynthia. The room is delightfully furnished and spotlessly clean. The Vanguard is well positioned for enjoying all Amsterdam has to offer on foot or by tram. Situated right on the canals with good restaurants close by - you can't do better. Suit young or old couples or perhaps a single I recommend this B&B.
