I recently stayed at Hotel Multatuli for 2 nights with my family, I had booked a single and a double room for our stay. The rooms were nice, neat and cosy. The single Room (#142) which was front facing had a superb view of the Canal, Central Railway Station and main street, but you can't help yourself from hearing the...

My family was there one night. The hotel is in very good location which is only 7 mins to the Amsterdam Centraal Station. The room is small but very clean and quiet. Breakfast is simple but it is reasonable comparing to the okay price in an expensive city. I think Multatuli is not a bad option for a short time...

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. When I was booking it the rooms looked great on the web. That wasn't the case when I arrived. Small rooms. Need decorating and were not clean. Staff friendly but the manager not so nice. Needs to go on a hotel management course to learn how to run a hotel. His manner...

Hi, we had a 2 night break in Amsterdam and this hotel is very close to the train station. The room was down in the basement but wasn't really a problem. The breakfast was great with the usual buffet style offerings but what made it better were the personal touches from Natalya and Paulo who made you feel v welcome and...

Great (though just OK for the price range) room - very damp but I think a result of the incessant drizzle during my visit rather than a property of the hotel itself. Comfy bed, well-equipped bathroom. Sadly the breakfast staff were in a world of their own, ignoring guests and untroubled by a rash of insects crawling over the continental...

The hotel is right across from Central Station, get the train from the airport and you are there. Our room was downstairs, I was worried at first but it was very cool with windows onto a little courtyard and ample room for a double and single bed. The aircon in the room was excellent as it was very hot outside....

Perfect location, just across the street from the railway station. Our room overlooked the back yard, which allowed us to sleep with the window open, instead of using the AC. The breakfast was a nice surprise, with bacon, eggs, fruit, toast, bread rolls, croissants, basically everything we needed. The staff both in the reception and in the breakfast room was...

I stayed here with my mum when we went to visit Amsterdam last year. My mum has arthritis and I asked for ground floor if possible but there were so many stairs up and down to the room even though there was a lift. Even the initial walk to reception we have to walk up about 10 stairs. Apart from...

This hotel has very small rooms but they are clean, the staff are very helpful, breakfast is good. The water runs hot and cold and is hard to regulate. We had a good time exploring Amsterdam but paid the same money as friends staying at The Grand Legend Sofitel, in comparison this hotel is very basic but the location is...

OK, this isn't a luxury hotel, but it's almost opposite Centraal Station and a great location for exploring the city. Staff are very pleasant, breakfast choice was adequate and room is small and very basically furnished. Our room had a very soft bed (we prefer something firmer) and was at the front, so very noisy if the window was opened....

Staying in Centrum

Neighbourhood Profile
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
