The hotel is a few minutes walk from Amsterdam Cantraal and therefore is surrounded by restaurants, bars and shops and is near Dam Square. A few doors from it there is an Albert Heijn supermarket which is quite handy if you need to by some groceries. The hotel reception is nothing special but the breakfast room is very nice and...

The hotel was very central, which was valued, but the atmosphere of the place was poor, lacking as it did any meeting area apart from at breakfast, and the bathroom didn't have ventilation and unpleasant smells seemed to back up into our room when we returned, necessitating leaving the windows wide open during a severe cold snap.

The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the Centraal station, but not quite in the heart. Giving such a heavy price for tiny rooms, felt like a rip off. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast was decent. Views of the roadside are good, if you get the lower level rooms - do not take them! They are...

Not knowing Amsterdam, I hunted the internet for a good inexpensive Hotel and what did I find- this one! The receptionist was kind and helpful when I had a credit card problem. The room was at the back of the Hotel, but quiet in a noisy city - such a relief. Breakfast was plentiful and varied. The fact that the...

We stayed there and found the hotel was very clean, & well situated in the central area. Breakfast was very good, and the air-conditioning worked very well. Probably not the best neighborhood, but we felt safe walking at night.Room wasn't large but very adequate. WiFi only worked in lobby.

My husband and I travel all over Europe and we were very unhappy with this experience. Location is ok but they told us there was parking for 8 Euros a day but failed to tell us it was a out of the Center. We had to take a tram to the parking lot (good thing we had a GPS) and...

Location is very close to the train station and a short walk to downtown. The room was small but isnt bad for a short stay. Breakfast was good. The hotel can call a car service to come pick up you're car and park it in safe storage during you're stay. Wifi was bad and you have to pay for it.

Position near to Central station excellent for visiting attractions in Amsterdam. Bedroom clean, but very small. OK for short stay, but would be uncomfortable for any lengthy stay. Breakfast included, and choice reasonable, and server very helpful and friendly

This hotel is right over the road from Central Station but to the quieter side. Its location is perfect. The hotel was clean and quiet with excellent customer service. The breakfast that was included in the price was first class. There was 13 of us but nothing was too much bother for the staff. I would stay here even if...

Firstly this hotel is literally across the road from central station, absolutely excellent location - a 5 min walk which makes transportation to the airport very easy. Also there are buses, trams, metro and tour buses at central station so the hotel is ideally located. The hotel is a 5 min walk to Red Light District so walking back late...

Staying in Centrum

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
