Fabulous central location, three great nights sleep in very comfy bed. Brilliant showers and very helpful and friendly staff. Highly recommend this hotel if you want to be in the heart of Amsterdam, not disturbed at night at all despite the very central location. Lots of brown cafes and lovely restaurants close by. less than five minutes walk from Central train station.

My wife and I stayed for three nights in Hotel Luxer before our flight back home.

We arrived by train and had only a few minutes to walk from the Amsterdam Central station. The location of the hotel is excellent. Every attraction within or close to the semicircular canal system of the center of Amsterdam is in walking distance. In the same road where the hotel is, one finds numerous bars, restaurants, and shops. If needed, laundry services are only 50 yards away.

We were especially impressed by the very friendly front desk staff that was always around to be of help whatever we asked for.

It may be noteworthy that the lobby is a cafe/bar where the front desk employees serve free coffee in the morning and beer or other (cold or hot) drinks during the rest of the day. Smokers can smoke in a little alley between the hotel and the neigboring building.

Our room on the third floor was small, but very well designed. The queen-sized bed was very comfortable. The bath was modern with a very good shower with immediate hot water and a high shower head, which is especially important for 6 feet (+) people. There was a roomy wardrobe as well as small night stands. There was a small place with a desk to sit or work. Coffee for the morning was provided. The wifi connection was excellent. Lighting and temperature control functioned very well. The view from the window over neighboring rooftops was outstanding.

Every day, room service stopped by to tidy up, empty garbage, and replenish coffee and other things.

We got a wake-up call in the morning when we left and the taxi that we ordered through the front desk arrived on time. The driver helped with the baggage and brought us to the airport in about 30 minutes (+/- $60).

My wife and I were in Hotel Luxer on a prior trip and we came back, because our first experience was as positive as the second. We will certainly try to come back to this hotel when we travel to or through Amsterdam again.

My sister and I had a long journey to Amsterdam with the most uncomfortable weather, but the hotel teams welcomed and accommodated us very nicely. The room is big, with a comfort and soft bed. I like it. Though in the bathroom don't have the hanger, hopefully they will set for the guests can hang their clothes or towels. The rest is ok. The location is really convenient, next to the main train station, many restaurants, grocery stores near by,... The staffs are amazing, they are really helpful and ready to recommend you if you are the first time coming to Amsterdam want to know local features. Sorry guys I forgot to ask for these amazing people names at reception to mention. But in general, I highly recommend this place to anyone who want to travel affordable budget, location in the centre, with wonderful service, and comfortable bed. This hotel is probably an option for you.

When I booked the hotel I knew it was close to the station and Dam Square but I didn’t realise just how close it actually was. I visit Amsterdam every year and the hotels are more or less the same, but Luxer had some little things that make it worth staying at again. For a start the hotel has a free bean-to-cup coffee machine for guests to use whenever they want, plus free croissants and jars of sweets. I found I saved a lot of money on coffees by just going back to the hotel for a pit stop to get refreshed, grabbed a coffee and some sweets before heading out again. When you check out they also give you a little bag of snacks for the road.
I stayed in a twin room and it is a lot more spacious than some other hotels, plenty of space to move around. The air con works really well and most importantly the room was very clean, beds and pillows comfortable.
There were really only 2 minor down sides I found during the stay. Our room didn’t have a mini fridge, that would have been nice to store drinks, and the hotel doesn’t have a dedicated luggage storage room, you can leave your luggage but it stays by the front desk. Other than those minor things I think the hotel is fabulous, given the price and location. It is on a very busy road full of bars and restaurants and it gets rowdy at night, I don’t expect this to be a hotel for you if travelling with children.

This is the second time we've stayed at Hotel Luxor and once again no complaints. The lads at reception are always friendly and willing to help. We arrived on Monday morning at 11 just wanting to drop the bags off, but the room was ready and allowed up us to freshen up and take a wee nap. There may be no breakfast but the coffee is always available and complimentary pastries are always available.
5 stars highly recommend a stay

Location: It is about a 5-10 min walk from the Central station and various trams, so it is pretty much close to everything in the city. Red-light, canals and everything you would want is minutes away.

Room: There was no refrigerator, but it has AC and heat control, and very fluffy pillows. I slept well.

Lobby: It was manned every time we went through there, plus there was a small bar that the helpful desk staff maintained in addition to his lobby duties. You need to buzz the reception to get in, but they are right there and it feels very safe so no big deal.

Breakfast in the lobby: Coffee machine and croissants set us up for the morning.

Carpets and rooms need updating, but that's in the plans.

I would stay there again. enjoy

Conveniently located a short walk from the train station. The hotel is very clean. When I lifted up the mattress and looked under sheets everything looked new. Everything in the room was extremely clean and in great condition. You can tell they really pay attention to detail ensuring there will be nothing to complain about. The entire staff from night to day is more than helpful and accommodating, you really feel you are at home. They are extremely approachable and genuinely friendly & helpful.

Well what can I say?!
The most accommodating hotel I’ve stayed in. We arrived (a group of 9 giggling girls for a birthday trip) we arrived before our check in time expecting to just put our luggage in their luggage store area before heading off to enjoy ourselves but the hotelier said they had our rooms ready which was fantastic. He then told us once we were settled to come back to the bar for a drink on the house. We had one and then paid for a couple more before heading out. The hotel is situated just off the red light district so easy to access all the coffee shops bars restaurants and excursions. Very friendly and welcoming staff on everyday that we were there. Beds very comfortable , nice wardrobe space and lovely powerful shower. Free croissants coffee and sweets all day long. On our last day they provided us with a little goody bag for our trip to the airport consisting of a drink crisps chocolate and biscuits. Can not fault this hotel and would definitely stay again. Our whole party talked about how fabulous it was all weekend ! Thank you Hotel Luxer for making our stay even more enjoyable.

Fantastic location so close to everything and right in the heart of the red-light district. The hotel was very safe, an entry buzzer to enter the foyer area. Staff were wonderful so helpful with everything and any information all went out of their way to assist. The breakfast consisted of croissant and coffee, coffee, snacks available all hours in the little coffee sitting area. The rooms were large, beds comfy and all amenities, but from your room we never heard any noise from the outside traffic. The hotels itself was very clean. Could not fault anything with the hotel, great place to stay and would recommend for families, couples or ext group such as ours.. It was a great location to just walk out of the hotel and you are right in the heart of everything, shops, restaurants, everything

Perfect hotel for a city trip.
In the middle of the old town, 5 minutes to the train station. The room was spacious, very clean and quiet. For free breakfast there is croissant and all day you can help yourself to coffee, tea, water and sweets.
The staff is really super nice and helpful. I can recommend the hotel without restriction!

Pretty sure a debit card would be fine. My experience was that it's a very friendly hotel and they'd be very helpful. As a backup I'm sure they'd accept mum's credit card.
