Charming, historic building with simple yet very clean and pleasant accommodations. Not for people looking for posh, mass market, run of the mill hotels. Perfect for people who love canal views, and comfy simplicity (and a Gently elderly poodle you will greet you for breakfast!)....More
Great location, but that is about the only thing positive to say. Our room was basically up a ladder with no elevator, and I had two heavy bags and no help was offered. Breakfast was OK and minimal. There were some great restaurants nearby not...More

We regret you did not enjoy your stay with us. We have two rooms with stair access only (all others have elevator access) : we almost always inform guests of that fact when they book the room, and try assist with luggage, though alas on occasion...More
Booked for three nights in June, 2017, left after one night. Booked a room for me, my wife, and adult daughter. The room was very cramped. The shower did not drain, overflowing onto the floor. The electrical outlet worked intermittently. There were no chairs. The...More

We are sorry you had a bad experience with us, and I apologize for returning less than you were due; I mistakenly assumed you paid the double price.
However; guests are generally happy with the size of the room - I guarantee there are smaller...More
This incredibly charming and historic little hotel is located right on a canal, and it is in easy walking distance from the Centraal Station. We arrived on the early Thalys train from Paris and walked with our luggage. Even though it was still hours from...More

Thank you for your kind review of our humble hotel; we much appreciate hearing that all the staff's (and the blind poodle's!) efforts to make our guests feel welcome and comfortable have produced good results.
Room was noisy and hot ( in the attic). Room decor and bathroom facilities were poor. Curtains with holes, towels with holes, inadequate hanging space, windows that don't stay open or don't open fully. Not very welcoming.
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring
hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
