Bare bones, basic lodging at a great price within walking distance of the Anne Frank House, the Van Gogh Museum, and the Eijkmuseum as well as the Flower Market. Many excellent restaurants right at your door, also interesting shops, "coffee shops", and right on the...More

Definitely not the best hotel in town but a lovely authentic probably untouched building. At 148 € a night this is probably not the cheapest hotel either. But is has a lot of charm and if you are ok with sleeping in a bed that...More

Just returned from Amsterdam, and Hotel Brouwer was an extremely positive surprise: they are not on web sites (Booking etc) so you have to book by phone or mail, but the effort is rewarded. Brouwer (which means “brewer”..) is dating back to 1652, and has...More

Thank you for your great review. We value your appreciation of our location, etc. By the way the planes only come over us in certain weather conditions (which are rare),for the rest they aren't heard!

What can you say about the Hotel Brouwer that hasn't been said so many times by so many guests? It is a gem of a hotel in a fabulous location. Small, yes. But each of the eight rooms has a super view of the Singel...More

Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of
tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists
and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the
best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe.
Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops
of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones
Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods
such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring

Breakfast is 8:15 to 10:30 a.m. There is an ATM 2 blocks down the canal and around the corner, or as already mentioned, on the Dam Square, a 10 minute walk away.
