We loved our rooms here. Great place to stay and explore Amsterdam. The breakfast was great €7 and a good selection of breads, cereals, coffee, and juice. The atmosphere is more like a hostel, so if you are looking for a fancy hotel, this might not be the best choice, but if you are looking for a place with character...

The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and helpful upon arrival. We arrived early in the morning 9am, and although our room wasn't quite ready (they would have been happy to check us in early but the room was still occupied - understandable!), they let us leave our luggage there and offered us the free tea and coffee and biscuits. We...

Our room was on fifth floor and there is no elevator! Everything would be good if there were nice stairs, but they were terrible! So tiny, my foot couldn't fit in. And we had two bigger baggages which were very hard to carry all the way to the fifth floor with so tiny stairs. Our room was small, window in...

We booked via booking.com and I called up to see if they could provide an extra bed. The staff was lovely and assured me I could. We booked 4 rooms and for some reason we had an extra on the booking, not the hotels fault. This was booking.com We were allowed early check in and I thought great! My husband...

It's very difficult to find a hotel in Amsterdam in a great location with nice rooms at a reasonable price, but with this hotel we did! We stayed 3 nights here, were able to check in early on the first day (11AM) and able to leave our luggage here on the last day too. Rooms were really clean, got some...

Stayed in 2014 during a cold march Hotel staff was great upon arrival. Held our luggage for us as our flight arrived early.. gave us a chance to explore the city early without our cases. The rooms were small and cosy and good for 2/3 nights. Rooms were cleaned and so was the whole hotel. Building quite narrow but was...

This is a great hotel to stay at for a short stay to Amsterdam I stayed here with 2 of my friends and we had a room with 4 single beds and small suitcases which was great for us as we didn't have a lot of stuff. The hotel is located pretty centrally but still requires a good 10-15min walk...

Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighbourhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
