I stayed in a 6-bed room for three nights. The room was clean and very calm compared to other hostels I've stayed in. They day I got there I was shocked to see mold at the ceiling of the shower, but after telling the staff it was painted over the next day. Another thing: Only one power outlet for six...

Good location and good amenities. Went as part of a large group and tended to find that was the norm, lots of stag & hen dos. Friendly staff, would visit again in a large group but if I was by myself or in a small group I'd have a look at other options.

This was my first hostel experience in a 6 bed dorm, so with that take my comments lightly as I have nothing to compare to. The staff were friendly, wifi in the common area but not in the room, the bed was my biggest disappointment as the mattress was thin and you could feel the bed frame through it. It...

Good location. Good honest hostel . No frills. This is a good hostel for a low cost visit to Amsterdam. In a park , well as close as makes no difference.l stayed in 6 bed room , its a low cost option. The had a few old bottles from a stag night ,but not generally unclean.

its nice hotel with nice location.. i just stayed with our group to explore Amsterdam.. and really easy to go anywhere... Our room is enough for 6 people and a warm temperature because the temperature outside is cool enough for us who used to live in Asia. park in front of the hotel is very nice and a lot of...

Pretty average place, although in a good position right next to Vondelpark and a few minutes bike ride from the main attractions. The staff were friendly enough but the rooms were stifling hot and I woke up every morning a sweaty mess. The cleaning staff were rude and the place lacked any real character or sense of self, as the...

Although its location was really good (near the city centre and the Vondelpark) it lacked basic amenities. -There is no kitchen (not even a communal one) for someone to reheat or prepare a snack. You have to go buy something from the bar or a snack machine. And of course there's no refrigerator. -There is ONLY ONE(!) toilet and 2...

45 of us stayed for the weekend, they were very helpful and the rooms were great. Was a bit restrictive with peak season meaning you have to book and pay for bed, breakfast, lunch or dinner but they did what they could to accommodate us. Lots of stag parties, great bar and chill out area. Great location right opposite park...

Booked into this hostel due to its budget prices and perfect location- less than 5 minutes walk from the main Leidseplein area. Plenty of buses and trams, though I think bikes were also available to hire from the hostel. Had very little to do with the staff after booking in as it is a pretty self-explanatory and independent set-up, but...

I don't remember everything about Amsterdam. But this was a good hostel. Location may have been a little sketchy (walking down the alley) but it was a good place. I think towels must have been expensive because I remember using my pillowcase as a towel instead of a proper one. The Wi-Fi worked nowhere except the lobby, so that's why...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
