The hostel itself is great, clean, great rooms etc but the atmosphere isn't as good as other hostels I've been too. It's harder to meet people here if you're travelling alone. Location is okay, right next to vondelpark, but it depends what you want to see so check your map before you decide where to stay!

I can absolutely recommend that accommodation, everything what you need for good money. It's a great localisation for a few decent clubs and pubs, it takes about 20 mins to walk down to Red Light District. Breakfast was OK. Good luck in Amsterdam :-)

My stay at stayokay was great. You are in a very accessible area. Transportation. Food for breakfast is amazing. Bed is okay. The staff are very hospitable and they are helping you in every need like tours and events. Security is a big factor for me and I believe they have this.

I stayed here because of the walking distance to Rijksmusuem for sunrise. I pretend to be a photographer. I really enjoyed my time at this hostel. With 20 beds I was kinda nervous about noise and stuff, It was great! For $17 euros it was A STEAL and I would stay again in a heartbeat. Book it! Great location. Half...

Stayed there for a night with some friends. Place was strategic and within walking distance to bourbon street, rijks museum, the canal, hard rock cafe, everything. Breakfast was okay and they also organize a free walking tour at around 10 AM. You cant rent bikes from them as well.

Our family of 4 stayed here for two nights. We had a private 4 bed room with private bathroom. There are 3 buildings at this hostel and our room was in the modern B building. Our windows overlooked Vondel park which was great for people watching and see the parrot flock that lives in the park. The room and bathroom...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
