Location was perfect for us. 20 min walk from central station, easy access to the city centre and surrounded by a handful of quieter cafes and restaurants. We had the front 1st floor room which overlooked traditional Dutch architecture across the canal. The room was small with a small ensuite shower room but don't confuse small with bad. It was...

Recently purchased a 3 night stay at the Inn for an Anniversary present for my in-laws. My father in law is notoriously hard to please and he raved about the Inn so much, he demanded I leave a review. He said Christian and the staff could not have done enough for him and his wife during their stay, from helping...

My husband and I spent 4 days in this charming Amsterdam townhouse . The owners treated us beautifully and the inn is clean and close to everything. If you have mobility problems, ask for a room on the lower floor.

With only for rooms this is a very tiny hotel. Steep staircaise, nothing if you are handycapped. But if you are looking for something personal, you will love it! The host is extremely helpful, the rooms are small but lovely, the situation is quiet. You should rent a bike in Amsterdam, then the whole old town ist within your reach...

Christian, the host, is fantastic. From the second we arrived to the second we left he was absolutely lovely. He gave us a detailed intro to everything to do and see in Amsterdam and recommended loads of great restaurants around town. He also prepares a wonderful breakfast each morning. The place is spotless and very modern/stylish. Great room size (keep...

This pristinely clean townhouse offers the combination of both privacy and the helpfulness of having the insights of local residents. You are given a code to enter the front door and your bedroom so feel totally private, like you have your own accommodation in Amsterdam. Then in the morning you will meet the host and other guests at breakfast and...

A stay in this hotel made our Amsterdam experience. It is a small traditional narrow and tall Dutch house converted to accommodation rooms. The view of the canal, cafes, quaint old tall houses from our large windows was exceptional. The host, Christopher was everything you would expect and more, Extremely friendly and helpful. The no children policy was welcomed. Be...

Spotlessly clean, great continental breakfast, helpful, informative host. Our room on 2nd floor was small but very comfortable and had everything we needed. Yes the stairs are steep, but I took my time and they weren't a problem. Good location, slightly off the beaten track, but quieter, with some good restaurants close by. Thank you Christian for making our stay...

Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighbourhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
