I visit Amsterdam twice a year and I have stayed in most of the five star hotels. They are all great and unique, just like the city itself. I have stayed at the Conservatorium four times and each time I feel more and more comfortable there. It feels very familiar and the hotel is aging well. It gets more comfortable...

Difficult to review this hotel. Location is great, and when you enter the lobby, it is really impressive. Amazing architecture, from a building which was a bank a couple of hundred of years ago, which was perfectly recycled, with a modern shape but keeping the personality. Great first impression. Then the staff: super friendly and really very polite and keen...

We had planned a nice evening out with friends in restaurant Haiko so we decided to stay in this hotel. We arrived by car and I asked the doorman if he could take care of my car. The first thing he said “you know our prices for parking?” Then we had to carry the luggage by our selves into the...

This hotel has a unique location and building. Although the rates are high, I chose this hotel for its comfort. The rooms are very comfortable (I always take the 2 floor rooms), spacious bathrooms and always clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful, especially the lady from Maastricht at the concierge!!

I wanted to check out late, the staff managed a (very) late checkout... I was (luckily) the guest of the day, got the room upgraded into a duplex with 2 bathrooms...

Possibly one of the most impressive hotels I have visited. Love the communal areas, beautiful architecture and chic, non fussy (but very elegant) style. Suites have very generous proportions, good views and are immaculately presented. Staff are lovely and hotel also conveniently located for the museums and galleries. No pretence at all, but service just done to the highest standard...

our stay at the hotel made our trip. We couldn't stop admiring the design - the creative approach to combining old and new, the mis-matched chairs that add beauty and a whimsical light feeling. Spent 4 nights at the Conservatorium Hotel. The location is fantastic and the property is spectacular. The rooms were a loft style with the bedroom upstairs and a seating area on the first level. Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
