Hotels in Amsterdam are very expensive, so I suppose that should be taken into account when reviewing this hotel. It's and old building and very Dutch with a narrow staircase up to rooms (there is a lift as well) To me, it was more like a hostel than a hotel. Having said that, it was near to Leidesplein, which is...

In a good location- 5 minutes from restaurants shops and bars. 10 minutes from museum district (walk). The tram stop which goes into town is a few minutes walk and it's in an obvious location so would be difficult to get lost. The room was really small- by small double that's what they mean. No storage either. But for a...

Hotel is not central, need taxis to get into the centre. Staff are rude and unhelpful. Money was taken from our hotel room and when we complained we were told this was our own fault. Only person in the room was the cleaners. Hotel was not worth the money, would never book this hotel again

The hotel was a bit tired - beds are comfortable w shallow mattress but great linens and top cover. Bathroom updated w great shower, water pressure and hot. Small rooms - but ur in Amsterdam. Busy street. Hotel desk covered all night. Was very clean but decor very core simple basic. One block from a canal -

Visited this hotel recently with several friends. On arrival reception staff very friendly but this was the only positive thing I can say. Firstly removed a soiled !!!! Quilt from out of the tiny wardrobe so I could hang my clothes. Don't even want to think what was on the quilt but lots of brown stains ! Smelly small bathroom,...

Does what it is supposed to do. Comfortable beds, room is adequate, nice big television and the breakfast was pretty good (no English) Would give three stars, but the location is bang on!! Less than five minute walk to the main square, with more bars and restaurants than we could possibly visit in the three days we were there. The...

No car parking - they tell you its available but have to walk 15 minutes to Q park. They tell you its€36 but it's in fact €40. Was given basement room. Got 1st floor. I don't think it was any better. Noise from staying guests. Elevator and tram extremely loud. Rooms are very dated at first glance look ok and...

Our room was only ready at 2.10 pm. The room was in the basement, clean and quiet facing the back yeard. Neighbor could peek in to my bed. Curtains could not prevent that. Madrasses are bathtub shaped, pillows too big. High risk of anybody from street getting the key to your room. If you leave your luggage, it will be...

Staying in Jordaan

Neighbourhood Profile
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
