Good location and mediume breackfast service. The hotel doesn't have the elevator and to reach rooms steps are quite thin and high. It's ok if you don't have big luggages. Comfortable beds and very characteristis room.

We found this hotel online and struck gold. The location in Amsterdam is excellent, as we wanted to be within walking distance of attractions and on a canal, yet we wanted the quietness of something near the Jordaan...and the Wiechmann is it. We could echo the same positive comments of rwjohn and Marc and others who liked the hotel. Room...

Booked this without recommendation via interenet for my wife and I. Not been to Amsterdam before so a bit of a risk, but no probs with this one. Actually picked a great location, but we did airport transfer. Hotel is clean, quirky/old decor/furnishings. Nice friendly staff and dog! Steep stairs, luckily we were were on 1st floor - wouldn't fancy...

We stayed here over the holidays. The location is right in "The 9 Streets" which is a popular destination for fashion boutiques, small cafes and local charm. We had a view overlooking the canal on the top floor, (very steep stairs) so be prepared. There was a lot of sun in the room and free WIFI. Breakfast was included in...

My stay at Hotel Wiechmann was my first experience in a small hotel in Amsterdam, and I am sure it will not be my last! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful in suggesting restaurants, places to visit, and in giving directions. The hotel is in an incredibly charming old building with comfortable and nicely decorated common areas. The rooms...

Loved the traditionally furnished lobby and ambience. Lots of stairs and tight quarters in the room for 4 on the 3rd floor, but comfy beds. Breakfast was great, and the staff very helpful. Wish we could've had a canal view, but hard to find for this price for 4. Very close to Anne Frank and good Jordaan restaurants and shops,...

Staying in Jordaan

Neighbourhood Profile
Jordaan
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
