You need to phone and check just what you are getting. Being an old Amsterdam building room sizes vary. Not all rooms are what you might expect so do check first. There are about 4 sizes of rooms at varying prices and facilities. We had a medium room with a window overlooking the front. It had a king size bed,...

Hotel has been renovated with good taste. I asked reception to arrange welcoming surprise and they did it good. We felt very welcome from the very beginning, our room was ready earlier which was nice due to ver yhtään early flight.

Myself and my new husband decided to take a weekend trip to Amsterdam, a place we always wanted to visit. Despite our trip being shortened due to delayed flights, the staff at the Max were just so wonderful we didn't think about it for long! They had given us a lovely welcome gift, gave us loads of advice and were...

This place is within walking distance of a lot of really cool places and I stay here for work when I travel to my company's HQ's. Staff is super friendly. I love that they have coffee, beer, and candy downstairs too. Rooms are very quiet, beds are comfy and the price is great.

We stayed here for two nights whilst on a weekend break. It does what it says on the tin in terms of being right next to the Rijkmuseum and the Van Gogh museum. If you are there on a Sunday morning then go to the market stalls outside the Rijkmuseum before 10.00am and you'll still get into the museum before...

Dear Stuart K, Thank you for your review. I am so sorry you had some difficulties with the bathroom. Our building dates back to the 1900 so all the rooms are different and some are a bit inconvenient for tall people as yourself. I hope you mentioned this to my team so they could find you a room that is...

Max Brown is a quirky hotel in the museum district of Amsterdam. It is ideally located for exploring many of the top attractions with the addition of being in a quiet, upmarket residential area. Rooms are small but well equipped. Breakfast is standard, however, plentiful. Staff are helpful and friendly.

Max Brown Hotel in the Museum Square has 3 things going for it Location, decent rooms, and a very good staff. The hotel is off-beat in the sense of trying hard not to be formal/they have gone the other way. Denim work aprons, brown butcher block paper, items like bikes, mirrors, etc at odd angles, 60s furniture, crates.. all sort...

I chose the Max Brown hotel because when I looked at the pictures I loved the quirkiness and chic style of the rooms and hotel. I knew they would be small and narrow, however that gave the feel of a traditional Amsterdam residence with its tall narrow buildings. The rooms were really clean and contained everything you wanted, as it...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
