A lovely comfortable hotel. Staff kind and helpful. The room was basic but very comfortable. We both slept very well. Guess it was the amount of walking we did. The breakfast was good. A nice selection and the best vending machine coffee I have tasted. It is so easy to get the train from the Airport and arrive almost opposite...

We went to Amsterdam for 2 days and then we continued the travel for 15 days in other countries so we had a big baggage. We had some affraid for the stairs!! Some of our friends said the majority of places don't have lift. This hotel is beautiful!! We had a standard room, with private restroom in the plan floor....

Great hotel for a short break. The hotel is in a great location and very close to the station. The rooms have all you need for a short break however, they are small. Friendly staff help with directions and maps.

This is a lovely, quirky hotel. The staff are very welcoming and friendly too. Our room was very spacious and even had its own little patio/garden area. As the hotel is themed around trains and railways if you had an interest in these it would be a fantastic find. We especially liked the dining/breakfast seating which consisted of individual booths...

Get off the tube and you are a stones throw away - look straight across the road and you will see it. Breakfast is great, we actually took a sandwich out for lunch whilst we went on a boat trip ( which is also opposite the hotel back towards the station entrance ) Location wise, it's great for pubs, nightclubs,...

So firstly as you come out of central station you can see this hotel so there's no searching at all. The hop on hop off tour bus stops at the central station so again really convenient. Breakfast is continental. There's paper cups so nice to take an after breakfast drink to the room. There's a vending machine with soft drinks...

We stayed in 10 hotels on our trip and this had the best bed and pillows of any of them. Upon arrival we got to the hotel Very early around 6am due to our international Flight arrival. All the rooms were booked upon arrival so we could not go directly to our room after a very long tiring trip. This...

We stayed for one night at A-Train Hotel. We had booked a double room through Expedia.com. The location is very good, opposite the railway station, next to the shopping street, the canal cruises, the Dam Square ect. Many restaurants nearby. Our room was a double room with a double bed. The bed was not very wide. The room was clean...

I am staying in a triple right now, and we are very, very pleased with the accommodations. It is so convenient- literally across the canal from the City Center train station. The staff is incredibly warm and supportive. We were very happy to see an elevator to our floor. Triples are in the back of the hotel, and it is...

Staying in Centrum

Neighbourhood Profile
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
