We stayed in Hotel Aalders as part of a business trip. I have to say that the hotel is very conveniently located for visiting the local museums (e.g the Rijksmuseum and the van Gogh museum). I found that the rooms were very spacious and pretty clean. The service was friendly and helpful. On the downside, the carpet had seen better...

My partner and I enjoyed a 4 day break in early september. The hotel is perfectly situated near to the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh museum, Diamond museum and the Opera House. It is 2 minutes walk from the line 2 and 5 tram stops outside the Reichmuseum and these access the Central Station (15 minutes), which is itself less than 10...

This hotel is locatted just 2 streets away from the musseum park. It is just 50 meters away from the bus station from where you can head for the airport and 10 minutes away from city center. Very helpfull staff and great breakfast! I recommend this hotel for visiting Amsterdam as it is very well located.

A comfortable hotel for a long weekend. Bedrooms much bigger and quieter than expected. We all found the pillows too hard! Staff helpful. Very good location for art galleries and easy walking to most places. Would recommend.

My friend and I spent a long weekend here and we thought it was just great! The service was excellent especially when my friend had tripped over a tramline and needed lots of ice to pack around her sprained ankle! The location is perfect for the museums and the canal cruises. We're both in our sixties and mobility can be...

Hotel Aalders was clean, comfortable, quiet and in a great location. The staff was very friendly and helpful and all spoke english. The room was larger than I expected, simply, and the two twin beds were fine for me, traveling alone and were comfortable. The bath was larger than the typical european hotel. The hotel is very vertical, with only...

I stayed for four nights (16-20 sept.) in a hotel which is highly rated by tripadvisor and I did not see why. Traveling single I was given the tiniest room on the ground floor, with a door to the courtyyard whcih meant at night I had to shut it. ,And it was a glorious summer weather) The room was very clean...

On this Amsterdam trip I wanted to view the Van Gogh Museum so I decided that Hotel Aalders was a good choice. My room was fairly large with a double bed, 2 chairs and a table, a small writing desk but the best part was the large bathroom. My room faced a courtyard area. It was very quiet. The breakfast...

I picked a winner on this one! Great location close to Museumplein. Easy to get too and within walking distance of the canals and trams. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The room was small but well appointed and spotless. Stairs are narrow and elevator small so it might not be a good choice for elderly travelers or people...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
