Hotel Zandbergen is located in the best neighborhood, with many great cafes/restaurants - Museumplein - to stay in Amsterdam. I stayed there for the second time and I didn`t regret. First, because the hotel staff and specially Henk, the manager. He was always helpful and the staff were wonderful and made effort to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Second,...

I found Hotel Zandbergen on google and was thoroughly impressed by the stellar tripadvisor reviews. My experience of this hotel definitely lived up to the positive reviews! I booked only the night before as I was transferring from another hotel, and came in person the next day at noon. Henk was there to provide a warm welcome. Since I was...

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. Henk, the manager was wonderful. Very helpful. His son was also very nice as well as the other staff at the desk. It was very quiet and very close to great museums and everything we wanted to do there. There were nice cafe´s and restaurants on every corner nearby. Watch out for...

Hotel Zandbergen is located in a beautiful neighborhood, right next to Vondelpark and many great cafes/restaurants. It is also directly next to the #2 tram, which takes you right into the center of Amsterdam in under 15 minutes. Henk & the rest of the staff were wonderful and went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. I...

The hotel is located in a fairly quiet street which is just outside the main tourist area. We found the easiest way to get around was by bike which...

We picked hotel zandbergen on the basis of good tripadvisor reviews and were not disappointed. High points: 1. Helpful front office staff. Quick Checkout. You can expect good travel tips from the staff. 2. Location: 2 minutes walk from the tramstop (Tram 2 Cornelius Schuystraat or Tram 16 Emma straat). Quiet, safe neighbourhood. Near the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh museum....

I read many reviews before selecting this hotel and it did not disappoint! All staff were welcoming and friendly, and went out of their way to help. The hotel was pleasant and clean, and breakfast was very nice. I liked being in a neighborhood away from the hustle/bustle of the city center, yet still easily accessible to all points by...

We checked all the reviews for Amsterdam in January for our April trip. My advice is to book early! We did not make reservations until late February, and by then it was almost too late to get the rooms we wanted. Amsterdam is a very popular destination, especially in the spring, with all the lovely flower gardens in full bloom,...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
