We stayed here for around 6 days in the month of October 2011. The hotel in located very close to the Rijks and the Van Gogh Museums. Both are within walking distance. Public transport is very close by and there is a supermarket also quite close. The hotel rooms are clean and simple ( I would recommend staying in the... More

We stayed here in August with my parents and sister after celebrating my parents' 50th wedding anniversary on a Rhine cruise. The location, just around the corner from both the Rijks- and Van Gogh museums, was perfect. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, friendly and accommodating. The rooms are clean and simple, with everything in the right place. The... More

Hotel Fita is in an excellent location for any part of Amsterdam and is handily connected to the airport via the 197 bus. The rooms are clean and tidy with everything working as it should. The breakfasts are amazing and Roel and his team are adept at providing good tips for restaurants and other local info. Why stay anywhere esle?

My partner and I have recently returned from a 3 night stay at hotel Fita and we also agree with all the fantastic reviews this hotel already has. On arrival, staff were very welcoming-giving us an insight to all the sights and hidden gems in Amsterdam. The location was ideal, close to tram and bus stops and a short walk... More

My partner and I have recently returned from a 4-night stay at this hotel and we agree with all of the excellent reviews on Trip Advisor. We received the friendliest welcome ever from Roel, Martijn and Suzanne. They did everything possible to make our stay in Amsterdam perfect. They were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel... More

We have stayed at the Hotel Fita several times over the years with complete satisfaction. I just tried to book the Hotel again for next year and encountered frustration with the booking process. We first booked through their automated internet booking. We received a confirmation at one price then received an additional confirmation the next morning at a different price.... More

The Fita is a great little hotel with very helpful staff. Go for the double "A" room - more space . The hotel is perfectly situated opposite tram stop and the Van Gough museum. The poshest shopping street in Amsterdam, Rijksmuseum and bus stop for the 197 to Schipol are all within 5 minutes. I was staying for the marathon... More

The only points not to give it "excelent", are the breakfast which is more continental than buffet and the price which is on the hige side for such hotel. The new owners did a perfect work in equiping the room and make it freindly, clean and fantastic bath room. The tiny elevator with small space, give it the clourfull of... More

I have to agree with all the wonderful things everyone else has said about this hotel! Owners Roel, Ria, Martijn are excellent hosts. The location is great; I loved being in a neighbourhood where you feel real life is being lived, and yet soooo convenient to everything (including a public bus to Schipol for €4.00) The schools next door added... Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
