Good location. That is the best and only point. Average cleanliness, tiny rooms with only basic equipment and splendid views of nothing except next building's wall (just about one meter away). Male staff in reception is nice, polite and friendly but the woman gives a very bad impression with her attitude; didn't like her ways at all. Breakfast VERY expensive...

We used this as our base for going to the Assen MotoGP as we had never been to Holland before and wanted to see Amsterdam. The hotel is in an excellent location, very central, with a short walk to the Centraal station, but it is just basic and so noisy! Doors get slammed at all hours and although the hotel...

Stayed here on business trip, was easy and quick to find from the station. Foudn hotel staff to be very helpful and friendly. Rooms average for the price really but then again find Amsterdam quite expensive for accommodation. I slept fine but my colleague who got a ground floor room said it was very noisy the whole evening. TIP: try...

We booked two nights at the Singel Hotel because its location on one of the most attractive canals was close to the center of the city and the major destinations one would want to visit in Amsterdam. Price of the room was just under $200 US a night. We were in Room 32, and it was ridiculously small, even for...

We stayed 3 nights at Singel Hotel and while the room was small - my husband is 6'5" (200cms) we had a comfortable double bed. The bathroom was long and narrow with a wetroom type shower which was cleverly squeezed into the space meaning the only issue was sitting on the toilet - too hard with long legs and actually...

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights, read about this fact (The smallest room in amsterdam) on their site but didn't ask for it, not at all! But I was given it, small is too big a word to describe the lack of space, air, oxigen you feel after a couple of minutes you are staying in this room....

Checked in to this small hotel to find wonderful clean surroundings and helpful staff. Quiet hotel in the middle of one of the busier areas of Amsterdam. Rooms were small but extremely well planned and brand new.

It's hard to find good hotel values in Amsterdam where rooms can be notoriously small and prices notoriously high. The Singel tries and I give them credit for that but it doesn't always succeed. Our first floor canal view bedroom was clean, large (for Amsterdam)and decently equipped if decorated in a somewhat non-descript style. The large windows let in a...

Well appointed hotel ideally situated for all forms of transport and the sights of the old city. Comfortable clean hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Good choice of meats, cheese cereals and a good variety of breads etc.

Neighbourhood Profile
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
