Me and my wife just spend four nights at Tulip Inn Amsterdam Centre and find the hotel quite cool! We choosed the campaign "Stay four or more pay less" - breakfast included! For a *** Hotel, found it absolutely nice and the prices just unbeatables! You get what you pay! Room 201 very good, with two large twin beds just...

First time in Amsterdam and I can I would visit again. We use this hotel as part of my job and went over to try it out and experience Amsterdam. It’s a 3 Star City Centre the main plus point for this is the location!! It’s perfect right in the centre of everything near the station. It’s very close to...

The Tulip is the ideal hotel in the perfect location for a city break. The hotel was clean and the staff extremely helpful and friendly. It is situated five minutes walk from Central Station, the tram stops and the canal basin where numerous barges leave from and is just on the outskirts of The Red Light District so is ideal...

This is right in the middle of all the red light action, if you don't mind loud screaming banging and drunken blokes roaming around then this place will suit you. It's not really a family hotel, more for singles that like the night life. Our 1st rom stank, so asked for another, which was better, rooms were clean and beds...

Hotel right in the Centre between Central Station, Dam Square and Red light. Very clean, beds really comfortable and quite roomy considering there was four girls in there. Nice private bathroom. Would definitely recommend.

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
