Budget price but would have no complaints. It's central, clean and what you would expect for the price. Very noisy late and nite and in the morning. Definitely not the right choice if you are looking for relaxation but it does what it says on the tin for sure.

Good location but that's the only plus. Room smelt musty and was filthy. Very unsafe stairs to room. Staff very rude and unhelpful. Located close to the centre and central station. Would only recommend for a one night stay.

We booked the Tulip Centre as wanted something that was convenient and good value for money in the more expensive Summer period. Had a very tired and oddly shaped twin room but it did the job. Staff were very helpful and we had breakfast included.,Typical basic Amsterdam buffet style but it was better than nothing and no worse than any... More

As a friend and I planned our Amsterdam trip, we were looking for a central hotel. We found it with the Tulip Inn as it was close to Amsterdam Centraal as well as tram lines and therefore downtown and other neughborhoods. However, after we were given our room keys, we pretty much had to use a map and bread crumbs... More

I would have given this a 4 rather than 3 of the decor was up to date. Our bathroom was newly fitted/modern however the room didn't go to match it. Overall though I wouldn't mind staying here again as it was right in the centre and the staff was really nice. Except one man who worked during the night with... More

Stayed in this hotel in November , great location .Thats where I have to leave it, We had a double room booked. The 1st night we stayed in room 014 ground floor ,right at the back of reception, The noise level was unreal , our room window was on street level on a very busy street behind the hotel, People... The rooms and the beds are horrible...not at all worth. The pics you show while booking are not the same at the room. You are making us fools...there are helpers to assist in carrying the baggage....stinky carpets....totally unhygenic and unsafe hotel

Firstly i couldn't believe how affordable it was to stay at this hotel as it was so centrally located! It was about a 10 minute walk from the train station, and had lots of shops and bars close by. The breakfast that was included was lovely - mostly continental, with some hot food options too. The room had everything we... More

I was quite worried about this hotel because of the reviews from TripAdvisor, but it worked out fine for our purpose. We wanted a cheap hotel that was very central, and that's what we got. Yes, there were some places that could be cleaner, and yes the church bell gets quite annoying, but for the time we spent in the... More

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
