Visited here in November as a group of 4 adults. Hotel is situated in quiet side street approx 5-10 minutes walk to museumplein and van gogh museum, there is also a supermarket near which is good for sandwiches and drinks. Hotel is clean and comfortable and had laundry changed everyday. Breakfast consisted of meats breads and croissants which set you...

We stayed here for 3 nights in august. The hotel is 5-10min walk (depending on how fast you walk) from the riijksmuseum. It is in a quiet suburban location. It's basic but clean and perfect to use a base to explore. The breakfast was good a mix of some pastries, cereal and meats. Would happily stay here again if I...

Stayed here for a couple of nights. It's in a great location (quiet residential) within easy walking distance of the centre, museums and restaurants. It is a simple hotel, in need of redecoration, but is clean and all staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was simple, and not much choice, but bread was fresh. We had a 3 bed room...

Myself and two friends stayed here for a long weekend away for my birthday. The hotel is in a really good location, just away from the Van Gough Museum, and has the AMSTERDAM sign. The hotel is just off, so allows quiet nights for sleep. The trams in this location go straight to the centre and dam Square for more...

The service we received was helpful and friendly and the breakfast, whilst limited, was fine for what it was. The room is rather small and could do with a little update in terms of décor, but the facilities are perfectly adequate and considering how little time we spent in the room it's downfalls are easily overlooked. This brings me to...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
