The 56 rooms and suites at the Ambassade Hotel have been furnished and decorated with care and provided with every modern convenience. The attractive lobby, salons and other public areas contain antique furniture and clocks combined with modern paintings created by the famous Cobra group. The amazing Library-Bar contains over 5000 books, all signed by the authors during their stay at the Ambassade Hotel and has an adjacent lounge that can also be hired for small meetings. On the first floor Brasserie Ambassade is run by Executive Chef Tommy van de Coolwijk and his brigade, who specialise in the classic French cuisine. In this wonderful Brasserie, decorated by art works and large chandeliers and overlooking the canal, each morning an extensive breakfast buffet including a large variety of hot dishes cooked to order is being served.

My husband booked the Ambassade as a surprise - and what a surprise! It is the most beautiful, individual hotel with a fabulous art collection - focused around the 'Cobra Movement' of the post-war era. Downstairs there is a stunning library where all books are signed by their

This is a boutique hotel that excels in every dimension. The location is central but quiet, on a beautiful canal street with restaurants, shopping, museums nearby. We walked everywhere. The physical plant is superb - bedding, bath fixtures, amenities. There is an elevator

This is a true gem of a place and I would rather have a couple of nights here than a week anywhere else. The hotel is stunningly beautiful with all the amenities you would expect - and more. There is a collection of art on the walls, but it has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Thank you for your time. For your information: the nearest tram-stop is 150 meters away (3 of the main lines come by there), the nearest underground station (Rokin) is about 300 meters away. Anne Frank House is located only 10 minutes walking from the Ambassade Hotel. A bit complicated via public ytransport, since a change of lines is invlolved and usually walking is just faster, There is a taxi-rank there, so the way back would be convenient. Please do not hesitate to contact us, might you have any other enquiries and we do hope to have the pleaure of seeing you soon. Eelco, Ambassade Hotel

Good afternoon Sir, Thank you very much for your kind ineterst. The Ambassade Hotel has 2 triple rooms: one overlooking the canal from the topfloor, but with relatively small windows, another one facing the courtyard. Upon request, a spacious superior room with extra bed can be reserved, a canalview can then be guaranteed. we hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you at the Ambassade Hotel, please do not hesitate to contact us if you have more enquiries or wish to reserve. with kind regards, Eelco Douma, AMbassade Hotel

Why not one dinner in and one elsewhere? We loved our dinner at the Ambassade - suggest you book early as it's very popular. Have a great time in beautiful Amsterdam!

Sorry but can’t help you Nitza. We didn’t have a car but used public transport in Amsterdam which was cheap & highly efficient. I’m sure driving in the city would be a nightmare as so many canals & subsequent one-way streets to negotiate. If you can manage without the car for your city stay, do so. Maybe a secure car park on the outskirts can be found? Good luck.

"Ask for a canal view room!"
"it's lovely to look out on the canal - we loved being under the roof at the top"
"Choose a canal view room if you can. The trees are lit up with fairy lights outside. Very pretty"
"We splurged on one of their suite rooms and it was beautifully appointed. The view of the canal from the window was absolutely gorgeous."
"Some superior rooms have canal views; but they tend to be much more expensive."
