The location is bang on and central station with the tram and rail connection at a stones throw. Its in close proximity to some lovely restaurants and coffee shops. The science centre and bibliotheek is also a short walk away. You can have your strolls in the lovely neighbourhood of jordon which is right across the hotel. The hotel is...

We stayed here for two nights on a city break to Amsterdam - our first visit. Very easy to find having arrived at Central Station from Schiphol airport - less than 5 mins walk from the station. Really central within easy reach of trams, buses and boats and walkable to many key sights. Plenty of restaurants within a 10/15 min...

The room size and fittings are as you would expect at an Ibis, basic but comfortable and in good working order. A nice touch was the shower, which was large and well designed. The sound-proofing was surprisingly good both between rooms and to the exterior. The lobby bar was comfortable and pleasant. The breakfast place is correct but expensive. The...

We stayed here in Feb 2015 in rms 207&209. These are both facing the city and are directly opposite the bike hire. Yes it was a little noisey with bike bells ringing and chains clangking when the window was open, but nothing to distrub you too much. I would imagine on higher floors the noise is less. I choose this...

We stayed at the hotel as a group of 12. The location is fantastic, just a minutes walk from Centraal Station. The hotel is clean and our room (701) was large with a great view. Other rooms were much smaller and with no view but they were still acceptable. Given the proximity to the station the hotel was really quiet...

Excellent location. Just 5 mins walk from train station. Everything is walking distance from hotel. Room was a triple and ok size for a city. Would have liked tea/coffee in room but bar downstairs was nice. Did red light district tour, limo bike ride and walked to Anne Franks house, though didn't go in as queue was ridiculous. Had an...

We chose it due to location and reasonable price. If they give you room facing Train Platform, it could be a nuisance. Nemo Science Museum, Damrak Square and Red Light District are at walking distance. For other locations you can get tram easily.

Staying in Centrum

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
