Radisson Blue is located very close of the Red Light DIstrict so if you want to walk around it takes not more than five minutes to get there. Otherwise it is a very quiet place, with very polite staff and extremely comfortable rooms.

We had a bit of a tricky start as our booking through a third party provider was confirmed but not by the hotel so we arrived, tired, sick and when they told us we didn't have a booking we were cranky. But Nalu on the front desk and Restaurant Manager Joyce handled the situation very well with lots of understanding....

I've stayed in this hotel from December 18 till 21 and it has been great. I know Radisson Blu from other city and it has never disappointed me. Also here in Amsterdam my stay was excellent. we had a spacious, modern room with a well equipped bathroom. The entire hotel is very clean. As usual at Radisson WiFi is free...

Great place, quiet but central. Some rooms are much nicer than others. Breakfast is way overpriced, but the smaller pub in the hotel is a decent value. Bike rental was smooth and easy if a little pricey.

Tripadvisor: Hotel is located not too far from anywhere but is in a quiet side street. We were upgraded to a business class room on the 6th floor which was nice but it had a strange layout; as you enter the room the bathroom is on the left and then you go up a set of stays to the main...

Nice hotel located in the old town and very handy for basing yourself to hit all the big tourist locations during your stay in Amsterdam. Hotel itself is tastefully styled as well as friendly and attentive staff. One downside on this front was the rude barman in the hotel bar who I had to check with twice if he had...

We have stayed at this hotel some 15 times over the last 8 years. The hotel is very close to the city centre and is perfect for exploring Amsterdam, however, it is tucked away and is extremely quiet. The rooms are comfortable and and staff are most helpful with nothing being too much trouble. Wouldn't even consider another hotel in...

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
