If you are looking for Radisson quality close to the city center, this Hotel is perfect choice. The Hotel is located in the area of many neat cafees, small restaurans and boutiques in walking distance to the downtown. The building is in typical dutch style but very modern interior. The staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious enough for... More

The hotel looked outside very nice and the location is great to various nice cafés and small restaurants and small shops, close to other various sightseeing places, all in walking distance. That is fantastic. The breakfast for steep 25 € was excellent; had preferred a lower price. I was looking forward to stay in this hotel, but was disappointed when entering... More

Just spent 3 nights here with my mum. Whilst not the cheapest hotel this was chosen as good value with breakfast included but most importantly a good location. We had a warm welcome and were given a newly renovated twin room on the fourth floor. It looked out across other buildings so not a proper view as such but it... More

My husband and I stayed two nights here in July. This hotel was an interesting one. On first appearances, it was quite a classic building, with an impressive reception. However, the interior corridors and room decoration were quite dated and tired! I was especially disappointed with the interior window, which didn't really allow for airing the room properly. Having said... More

The main positive about the hotel is it’s central location – 5 minutes walk to the Dam Square, 15 minutes to Amsterdam Central train station and close proximity (short walks) to numerous eating-places. The rooms which are of an average size, however do need major improvements. There are no cupboards or chest of drawers – only a small open closet... More

We stayed at the Radisson Blu for 2 nights at the end of May. It was in a great location close to the centre but in a quiet street so away from the main tourist streets. We got the train from the airport and the hotel was within about 10 to 15 minute walk from the main station. The room was... More

I stayed with my young daughter and we could walk everywhere. We went out for breakfast in the city and usually returned to the hotel in the evening. It was sunny and relaxing and we had no complaints.

We have just had three nights in the Radisson Amsterdam and cannot rate it highly enough. We visit Amsterdam on a regular basis and normally stay in the Grand Krasnapolsky (which is not the great hotel it used to be). Very nice hotel in a great location in a quiet area. Within easy walking distance of Dam Square (just over 5 mins), many restaurants, shops and tourist attractions. Our room was very nice. Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
