We have stayed at this hotel for the past 10 years. It might not be the best but being straight across from Central Station it is very handy. The rooms are excellent; the staff very helpful and friendly, with fast efficient service.More

Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring
hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.

I stayed a few weeks ago and went near a week ago. The hotel was constructed years ago. Perhaps someone meant under renovation then this is something most hotels do and in my opinion they try to make sure guests are happy OR they meant the hotel is near construction sites. This is true there is a lot of construction in Utrecht but again it probably won’t affect your stay. I found the hotel absolutely fine.
