We pre-booked the hotel some time prior to travel for a 2 night mini break. The hotel is just a short walk from Central Station, perhaps 10-15 minutes steady walk. We arrived at the hotel around 11am, and were allowed to store our luggage in reception until we could properly check in at 2pm. The hotel is well located in...

Stayed for three nights and I can say honestly, I have no complaints. Room was small, very quiet, view was limited, but all was pristine clean and everything worked as it should. Breakfast (continental) was lovely, staff were extremely helpful, very friendly and attentive. But by far the main feature of the hotel was its location, some 50 metres from...

I enjoy my stay at that property, the location is awesome in bubbling part of city central at the famous Dam Square, very close to many shopping streets and good location to catch a Tram, I will surely recommend the hotel to anyone going that area, their staff are very friendly and accommodating, nice place to be.

Hotel is well located and within walking distance of the station. It is in an interesting old brewery converted into the hotel. There the romance ends. The hotel is functional and spartan. Our room was OK for one night but would have been depressing for any longer. It was clean enough - if anything the smell of disinfectant pervaded the...

Excellent location in city centre. All staff very helpful and courteous. No restaurant, but many good restaurants within a few minutes walk. Good buffet breakfast - fruit, cereals, bread, rolls, meats and cheese. Room clean and spacious, although lighting was poor. Some street noise late at night and early in morning, but not too intrusive.

It's not the cheapest place but it's very clean, has comfortable beds, friendly staff, free WIFI, free coffee and free breakfast (continental). The location is excellent also by the square and 10 minutes walk from the station. Recommend.

Tucked in a side street of a pedestrianised street near Dam Square. Easy check-in, very secure. Not a top hotel but somewhere decent to stay in expensive Amsterdam. Clean enough but needs a little TLC but nothing serious. Would happily go back.

Staying in Centrum

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
