I stayed in the hotel in November 2012 for three nights. The location was excellent - at a stone's throw from Dam Square and the National monument, and in close proximity to tram lines and stops. I don't think we could have asked for a better location. For keen shoppers, the De Bijenkorf department store is adjacent to the hotel....

What a compliment if a over 100 years old hotel is called a modern hotel. Also we are happy with our recent refurbishment. It was a pleasure to learn that you enjoyed our hotel and the surroundings and we look forward to welcoming you again in the future Yours sincerely Rene R.F. Wildeman. General Manager

I went to Amsterdam on a long weekend break with my boyfriend. We booked through expedia to get the hotel and flights sorted together. This hotel is absolutely perfect for a weekend stay as it is a 7/8 minute walk from the central train station which is three short stops away from the airport. On arriving at the hotel we...

Upon arrival you complained to me about not having received a double instead of a twin and I explained that doubles are always upon request so that I did not feel obliged to compensate for a mistake Expedia made by guaranteeing a double. So I very much appreciate that you wrote a honest and objective review despite your dissatisfaction. We...

Perfect for a weekend stay this hotel is just off Dam Square but was lovely and quiet inside. Rooms clean and modern but don't expect spacious luxury, the rooms are comfortable but not huge and bathroom was very small but fine for a weekend stay. Ideal location to access the rest of the city and staff were friendly and helpful....

Stayed in this great hotel June 2012 for 4 nights. The location of this hotel cannot be any better. Just off Dam square and walking distance to Centraal station. Great shopping nearby and walking distance to all of the great attractions in Amsterdam. Also only located a couple of streets from Greenwoods! I had a room on the third floor...

Although it has been some time ago since you stayed with us, we were pleased that you enjoyed your stay. With the exception of the central staircase, on which we are working actually, the whole hotel has nopw been refurbished. It was nice to learn that you enjoyed your stay with us. We apologize that the temperature was a bit too low in your room. Next time just ask us to look into this matter for sometimes the individual temperature regulation has not the right settings and it is easy for us to improve the performance. We look forward to...

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
