I would highly recommend this hotel! It is on the Singel canal....a secondary canal which means it is quieter than being on one of the major canals. We loved that! Some of the rooms have canal views. Ours did and I thought it was worth the extra cost. The public rooms are as beautiful in person as they look in...

Quiet, well-appointed hotel with an intimate "family run" feel. The room overlooking the Singel Canal was quiet and beautifully appointed (yes, you pay more for a canal view - it's worth it). We left our windows open and slept to the sounds of church bells and soft canal sounds below. Bathroom was sparkling, modern, gorgeous. Beds... oh, my!! Comfy. :-)

Second time to Amsterdam, first time at the Hotel Estherea. Its location is perfect, as others have noted, for strolling (or, in my case, cycling) around the city center. Because of its canal-side location, just off the main tourist drag, it is quiet (important at night!). But in a city known as a "hotel city" due to the sheer number...

We recently spent one night at the Hotel Estherea. The location on the Singel canal is perfect for a stroll around the centre of the city. Easy walk to lots of restaurants and shopping. Our room was very clean and beautifully decorated with a huge bathroom and one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. Very courteous...

I have been to Amsterdam many times but this was my first time staying at Hotel Estherea. We would definately stay again. Our room was lovely with a canal view. The tea, coffe and hot chocolate machine in the lobby (all free) was a nice touch. The bathroom doors were a bit odd, thought completely private i felt on show....

We stayed 4 nights in this beautiful hotel. Location is great, walking distance to most attractions, on a quiet area of the signel. Based on TA recommendations we booked a canal room, we got a beautiful room with large windows facing the signel canal and a lot of light. The room was very clean, spacious enough, with a wide comfortable...

We stayed 5 nights at Hotel Estherea in May 2014. We chose this hotel based on Trip Advisor reviews, having never been to Amsterdam. We were very pleased with our choice. I liked the hotel's location along the SIngel canal and found it to be very conveniently located for the typical tourist attractions. The staff was pleasant and accommodating. I...

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
