I'm a bit indecisive about what to give as an overall rating of this hotel, it's a bunch of contradictions. On the plus side are an elegantly renovated older building, a pleasant and accommodating staff, and one of the best locations in Amsterdam. 5 stars for those On the other hand you have absolutely tiny rooms even by Amsterdam standards,... I booked this hotel based on feedback written up on TripAdvisor and was not disapointed by it's terrific location on a charming and quiet street close to Museumsplein. My superior double room was spacious and had a comfortable bed. Small niggle regarding the size of the not very big wardrobe and a slightly awkward layout to the bathroom were fully... More

Clean, central, polite staff, very helpful. My wife is of Dutch origin and having visited Amsterdam for 10 years,we wanted to visit the Rijksmuseum after its refit, so wanted an hotel close by. Would definitely recommend, it is just around the corner from what I would describe as the 'Bond Street' of Amsterdam, the only thing missing over the past... More

I felt very safe here traveling alone. Yes the room was small, but everything was CLEAN. The staff was great, they found my iPhone n turned it in to the front desk. I came to see the museums which were just around the corner! Fantastic restaurant around the other corner! I looked for this hotel to visit again. It's like... More

The hotel is well located near Van Gogh, Rijksmuseum an Diamond museum. Prada, LV, Chanel, etc. boutique street is just round the corner. It's in a very quiet street, we asked for upper floors, so we lived on the last, no noise from the street and good view over picturesque roofs. The rooms are the tiniest I've ever seen in... More

The hotel is in a quiet road near the museums and is near a tram stop giving access to the city centre. Its well run and has a traditional feel to it. I booked a single room and the room was tiny with hardly any room to turn around in. Fine for one night but not for any longer, especially... More

First time in Amsterdam and this hotel made the experience all the better. Located in a FANTASTIC area close to public transportation. More importantly, the hotel was incredibly nice, clean, and well maintained. The front desk team was always happy to help with any requests, be it dinner recommendations and reservations or booking a taxi. I would not hesitate for... More

Nice clean hotel. Small typical European room. Location is not great but close to train and bus stops. A liitle far from city centre. Staff are great. Location is near to branded shops though we had no time to shop! Nice touch with offer of Christmas cake and apples at reception for Christmas Eve and Day!

Stayed for 4 nights at the end of my european holiday. The hotel is easily accessible by public transport from either central station (tram line 2,5) or Schipol airport (bus 197). Nice clean room, lovely quiet street, friendly hotel staff. Close to all of the museums and a quick 10 min tram ride to the heart of the town. Great... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
