This was far from a 4-star experience, and given the fact that I found 2-3 ants in my room, I wasn't super thrilled about my stay. The bathroom was so small that you would basically stand in the toilet while taking a shower.

Ended a three week tour through Spain and Portugal. Needed a good rest before returning home. This hotel was perfect. Great room. Great property. Excellent meal and beverage service and gracious front desk staff. Nice quiet location, yet near all the key museum sites and more. Thanks, RFK

This hotel is a great location in Amsterdam. It's close to the VanGogh museum, canal tours, and other museums within short walking distances. Even though it was in the heart of the activity, it's very quiet. We had one of the larger rooms that overlooks the quiet courtyard area. Ask for that if you can, as it's lovely and you...

Although the room was small it had all th necessary facilities including a fridge. There was a lovely, cosy bar area for a drink or light snack and there was also a small outside terrace. The location is excellent.

This hotel was great. A very good location behind the Rijksmuseum in an ideal location. A beautiful building, great staff, and a very comfortable room. I would absolutely stay here again when I visit Amsterdam.

We stayed for 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room was spacious and clean. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud - so comfortable to snuggle into. Staff were wonderful to deal with and certainly went above and beyond to assist with any issues/queries we had. The hotel is in a great location - close to trams...

Small, quiet and charming hotel with great access to local sites including primary Amsterdam museums. The hotel is within walking distance of several good restaurants and a cool jazz bar. Will plan on staying again on our next visit to Amsterdam.

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
