Nestled in the heart of the city, NH Collection Amsterdam Flower Market is often celebrated for its prime location and modern atmosphere. Guests have lauded the hotel for its impeccable cleanliness and stylish decor. While the rooms are reported to be on the smaller side, their cleanliness and the availability of great views or balconies are frequently commended.
The staff’s friendliness and helpfulness are well-regarded, though there have been occasional mentions of service issues. Travelers offer mixed reviews on value, with some citing the central location as a deciding factor, despite concerns about room size and noise.

Detailed Reviews
The hotel:
This hotel was beautiful and smelt lovely!! All of the staff were so friendly, smiled, especially Samantha who told us about the places we could visit. They were happy to make food reservations for us too. As we arrived early at the hotel and our flight was later in the evening, the hotel was happy for us to leave our luggage in a secure room. They also had sweets in the hotel everyday in the reception area which was a nice touch!
Our room was lovely and clean too! The bathroom was modern and clean.
Cons about the hotel:
The only downside was that I booked a superior room, and we had 2 separate beds pushed together, rather than 1 double bed.
Also the breakfast was good in terms of variety of food. However, the food was warm/cold on both of the mornings that we had breakfast (beans, mushrooms, bacon and, scrabbled eggs)
Location:
The location was perfect, around 5 mins from the tram and 5-10 from the station. The location was surrounded by food shops and clothing/tourist shops. It was super easy to get to and from the hotel from the airport via public transport.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating helpful. If you gave up room cleaning because you don't want all towels to be changed every day you got free drinks at the bar next door because you thought about the environment. This procedure is very exemplary by the hotel industry company NH!

The location of the hotel is excellent to move around the center and highlight the unbeatable attention of Miss Margherita reception, very friendly and who at all times lent herself to give suggestions of interesting places, a tenner for her! Thank you!!!

I will start with the main negative point to this hotel. The bar / restaurant staff member, we had been for lunch and a few cocktails at the hotel bar we then went and wondered the market and did some shopping in the near by streets. When we returned we decided we would have another cocktail before going back up to our room. So we sat down on an empty outside table put all our bags on the chair (which included pack of stoopwaffles we brought from the near by shop) I went into the bar to order the drinks and my husband waited outside. A male worker then came outside so I followed and I said hi are you able to take our drink order he then aggressively proceeded to tell us we couldn’t sit there and to go away! So we asked why and he said you have food there pointing to our stroopwaffles and he said this is a restaurant now go away, I then said excuse me we are guests he we have just returned from shopping and we’re planing to have a drink prior to returning to our room. The male worker was not interested and just said you can’t sit there go away in an extremely rude manner, it left us feeling really quite intimidated and embarrassed in the place that we had to sleep. We obviously left the restaurant area and then when we got to reception we asked to complain about how we were just treated and they just said ah it will be because you had food and were also not interested, the concierge who over heard the conversation was however lovely and said to us I am so sorry for the way you have been treated. Room was nice but they are small rooms for 2 people , for example if you were sat at the desk another person can not then walk past and you would have to climb over the bed or move. I also slightly question the cleanliness , our sink would not drain and then when I pulled the plug section there was a clump of blonde hair which was not ours (we are both brunette). The lobby areas and breakfast areas were all lovely. The breakfast spread was perfect. The location was fantastic and if it wasn’t for the service and treatment we recieved by the restaurant and reception the stay would of been rated as 5 stars.

Response from Guest Relations, Owner at NH Collection Amsterdam Flower Market
Responded 19 Oct 2023
Dear Mrs. Askey, First of all I would like to thank you for choosing us for your stay in Amsterdam. I would as well personally like to apologize for the treatment from the restaurant. I will discuss this internally with the company that is in charge of the restaurant since it is now owned by the hotel itself. Nevertheless, as said, sorry for the inconvenience since it is not up to our standards. I do hope you come back in the near future to Amsterdam and gives us the chance of providing you with an extraordinary service in the hotel. I wish you a lovely day ahead, Kind regards, Ane Guest Relations Manager

We were very happy with the location. The hotel is literally in the Flower Market. There are plenty of restaurants around and trams close by.
Rooms are good size although the lighting could be a little brighter and there are a safe and coffee and tea machines in the room. A nice touch is that there is bottled water provided each day. The hotel serves an extensive buffet breakfast each morning.
Everyone on staff from the front desk people to the breakfast crew to guest relations bent over backwards to be helpful.
We would like to especially thank Mikels for above and beyond service helping to insure our stay was a pleasant one!

The Junior Suite is well appointed and benefits from spacious rooms. Nothing to say on this point. The hotel is very well located in the heart of the city.
On the other hand, I reserved the Junior Suite with View which is presented on booking with beautiful images and we imagine that the floor is high given the brightness of the photos. It says "These junior suites offer a view of the Mint Tower."
The hotel assigned us junior suite 057 located in a basement (between the ground floor and the 1st floor). No view except that of the very close street. As a result, we have to close the curtains all the time because we are at the height of pedestrians on the street.
Moreover, there is an abnormal noise in the morning... I understood why! We are located just below the restaurant and you can hear all the moving of tables, chairs... I woke up thinking that someone was moving next to my bed.
I was very disappointed because the price is not cheap (+500 euros per night) without breakfast.
I notified the reception on site and they offered me breakfast to make up for it. I would have preferred to pay for my breakfasts and benefit from the real room that I had reserved.
As for the excuse given: "we're sorry, we no longer had a suite with a view to give you, that's why you're in this room"... Except that I booked a year ago time ...
It seems that booking customers arrive after customers who have booked directly...

I wanted to like this hotel, which likely caused me to excuse way more than necessary, but I can’t see myself staying here again.
First, from a business traveler perspective: The front desk attendant confirmed that he was aware of my company, but then proceeded to ask me to write the address of my location because he could not locate my branch.
Red flag one: Thats not something you ask the customer for when you are able to see the reservation is paid for and you are familiar with the company.
Secondly, I tried to utilize housekeeping as minimally as possible, for several reasons. But on one occasion, I returned to my room to find dirty pillowcases. I mentioned it to the front desk and guest relations responded two days later.
Red flag two: if housekeeping was either unaware or uninterested to overlook that there was a spot on the pillowcase, that should have been a queue for myself that some other things may have been missed.
Finally, the level of communication between hotel management and front desk seems to be non-existent. I could have spent the whole post just talking about this, but in short: I’m told one thing from a reservationist and when I should be able to check in—I return the hotel to discover that the guests in the room I had assigned had JUST checked out. Now this isn’t the hotels fault, but it highlights a lack of ownership and follow up.
Quite disappointing, but a major let-down occurred with this booking.

Hotel is ideally situated just slightly away from all the hustle and bustle of the city but within walking distance. Hotel on entrance to the Reception was beautiful and smelt absolutely gorgeous, the staff are accommodating and welcoming. Check in was easy and straight forward. We opted for a suite so slightly bigger than a double room and it was lovely, very spacious with views over to the city and a balcony off the bathroom.
King Size bed, small sofa and table, wardrobe hanging space, little entrance area, Safe, Tea / Coffee / Refreshments available. The room was lovely the only criticism I can perhaps say regarding the room was the housekeeping / daily cleaning of the room, obviously you could tell housekeeping had been in but it was far from thorough, empty bottles (water) left on the side that i forgot to put in the bin but they should have been removed, the floors swept etc. The room had air con which was a god send has the weekend weather was highs of 32 and the air thick and humid. The other little niggle was when checking in we were informed about the room service and it would be bought to the room but when we ordered an "uber" and informing reception we were told you had to collect from Reception but the assistant kindly bought the "uber" to the room so might be worth clarification to others staying at the hotel. Other than that we hardly saw or heard any of the other hotel guests the hotel is beautifully decorating. Definitely worth a stay. Thank you to the Staff of the Hotel for making our experience a lovely one x

We checked in here for 3 nights after a Viking river cruise, it is about a $30 cab ride from the ship.
Upon arriving at about 10:00 am we were pleasantly surprised that our room was ready and we could check in, this was great.
The front staff was great and even followed up with some ice and a follow up call after my wife twisted her ankle.
The location is great as you can easily walk to the water front or the museum district.
We chose the junior suite with views and included breakfast and were not disappointed, the room was large with 2 balconies that you could walk onto and enjoy the view from the 7th floor.
Other than breakfast, which was quite good, we did not eat here, but there is a great small pasta restaurant across the street.
It is a 50 euro drive to the airport that takes less than 1/2 hr that the hotel arranged.
Would definitely stay here again

Disappointed. Location right in the touristic middle of the city is nice but very noise - in front you have a street full of bars and in the back a ventilation system that is still audible because the windows are barely sealed / quite old. The breakfast was worse than in other NH Collection Hotels, the rooms were quite smaller as well (and we're talking about superior 350€ per night rooms!).
Parking is also quite hard, you have to pay ca. 50€ for their underground garage to even find a spot.
The helpdesk was very nice though and tried to find a solution for the noise but of course they can't change the building.
We were promised a 25% discount for a next stay at NH Collection Group Hotel - still waiting for it until now.

Dear Mr. Marcus, Thank you for choosing us for your time in Amsterdam and for taking the time to share your experience. We regret to read that you did not have the best experience with our soundproof rooms. As we are located in the middle of the city center, it is part of the lively Amsterdam. As for the breakfast concerns, it will be shared with the corresponding department. In order to discuss further the voucher you mention, I would kindly like to ask me to contact me as through tripadvisor I do not have access to your reservation details. There was a form for ordering breakfast to your room for an extra fee.
I stayed at this hotel in June and had an absolutely wonderful stay with no bed bugs. Of course, that was 4 months ago. Unfortunately, your questions can't be answered by someone who's not there on staff. You should speak with the manager at the hotel.
Dear frankn211, thank you very much for your question. Kindly note NH Collection Amsterdam Flower Market is situated in the middle of the city centre and the famous Kalverstraat shopping street is just a stone throw away.
Kindest regards,
Nicky - Rooms Division Manager
Can we leave our suitcases in the hotel before check in time? On the same day, of course. Thank you.
Dear guest,
Thank you for your question and interest. In case that the room is not ready yet, you can store the luggage with us and already enjoy the city Amsterdam.
May we be of any further assistance, don't hesitate to contact us.
Kind regards,
Amber
