What a treat it was to stay on this lovely, boutique houseboat. We stayed in the wonderfully misnamed 'Basic' room for three nights (the others being 'Standard' and 'Deluxe'). The twin bed was comfortable, with a thick memory foam topper, and looked out through a big bright window onto the Amstel canal where you can watch the world float by...

very nice accommodation, the deluxe room has a huge living/kitchen area, however the bed room can only accommodate two people. The host is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delivered fresh every morning!

My sister and I stayed here for 3 nights - it was just wonderful - we had the standard room which was fine for the two of us. Spotless throughout and thoughtfully provided with everything we could need - a nespresso coffee machine as well; even a hotel type safe for security. Mirjam was very welcoming and provided us with...

We come to Amsterdam every year for our birthdays. Every year we splash out on an expensive hotel. This year we wanted to stay in a houseboat. I am so glad we did. Little Amstel is a gem brilliantly located close to the metro (the metro takes 5 mins to Amsterdam Centraal Station). Gorgeous room - and although we had...

Perfect accommodations for 3 nights in Amsterdam. Clean, comfortable with beautiful view and great breakfast brought to our door every morning. Outside of the hub of the action, but close enough to walk to. We'll definitely try to stay here again on our next visit to Amsterdam. Mirjam is a lovely, welcoming host.

We had a Beautiful stay in Amsterdam in july 2014. Some of the reason was the fabuelous houseboat Little Amstel, the delux room! Clean, cozy, near (almost) all the sightings we wanted to experience. The owner, Mirjam, was a very helpful, charming, and warm hostess. A bit noise from the bridge, but not enough to be a problem. It was...

From Australia I needed to spend one night in Amsterdam on my way to visiting my mother in Leiden. I found accommodation in Amsterdam very expensive until I came across this absolute gem. I had the basic room which was perfect with a dual view with the morning sun beaming in on a cool day. Breakfast was plentiful. For something...

We spent 3 nights here, and had a wonderful time - we really didn't want to leave. The best thing about it, I think, were the fabulous views over the River Amstel. It was specially lovely to wake up and see the mist across the water - or maybe it was better at night to see the lights reflecting on...

Mirjam was awesome! Communication with her was so fuss free! And the little amstel is a 10 to 15mins walk away from the heineken brewery and a 8mins walk to the nearest tram stop. Everywhere in amsterdam is really convenient so i felt i made the right choice by staying at the little amstel! Breakfast provided was so good and...

Staying in De Pijp

Neighbourhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
